Who are the Elite Ladies? The Elite Ladies of Fairfield County School District is a service and social mentoring program for young ladies in grades 7 –12. The program’s purpose is trifold:
(1) To develop young ladies to become effective leaders, change agents, visionaries and entrepreneurs that will positively impact their schools and communities;
(2) To empower our young ladies by giving them access to various resources and opportunities to help them excel and compete in the global arena; and,
(3) To support and equip young ladies using the tenets of the Elite Ladies’ Seven Pearls for Success. The Elite Ladies’ Seven Pearls for Success focuses on transformative programming and activities that allow and encourage our participants to become the best version of themselves.
The Elite Ladies also have six (6) auxiliary programs that participants can be a part of:
TORCH: Spoken Word Group (characterized by rhyme, repetition, improvisation, and word play, spoken word poems frequently refer to issues of social justice, politics, race, and community). Example link: https://youtu.be/aWbERIVc7BM;
Elite Ladies Step Team (a complex synchronized dancelike performance that blends African folk traditions with popular culture. Often performed by members of the Divine 9, stepping involves clapping, body slapping, vocalizations, and dramatic movements). Example link: https://youtu.be/aWbERIVc7BM;
Elite Ladies ROCK! Leadership Group (fosters leadership and leadership skills, educate and inspires);
F.C. Diamond Elite Dance Team (HBCU inspired dance team for dancers in grades 3-12). Example link: https://youtu.be/UpyDMoPq-OE;
Elite Ladies Special Events and Service Projects (serves as hosts for Elite Ladies events and community/business partnerships and serves as leads in Elite Ladies' service/community service projects); and,
Elite Ladies' Cotillion program (designed to enrich young ladies with knowledge and appreciation of leadership, scholarship, and community service and to expand their cultural and social horizons. Our vision is to formally present balanced, well-rounded young ladies to society who are polished, poised and prepared to reach their goals).
