Winnsboro Father Daughter Dance

Winnsboro Father Daughter Dance The Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center serves children and their families in Winnsboro and our surrounding communities.

The Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center offers a safe child friendly environment to all children between the ages of 2-17, who allegedly have been sexually or severely physically abused or have been a witness to a violent crime. The center coordinates the efforts of professionals charged with the difficult work of investigating and prosecuting child abuse cases. The center relies on volunteers a

nd funding through community donations. Without our community's support, this much needed facility would not be available. Part of breaking the cycle of abuse is to try to prevent it all together. Many times this starts at home with the fathers or other male family members that serve as mentors to the children in the family. March 5, 2016 we will be holding the 5th Annual Father Daughter Dance for all ages. This event will give fathers or other important male role models in their families the opportunity to instill in their daughters, nieces, granddaughters, etc. the kind of positive treatment they should look for in men as they grow into young women. This event will be a special occasion that these young girls look forward to year after year and will provide wonderful memories that they can carry with them throughout their lives. ANNOUNCEMENT:
Due to these uncertain times and future, the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center will be CANCELLING the 2020 Father Daughter and Mother Son Dances scheduled for July this year. NETCAC relies heavily on fundraisers and awareness events, but the safety of our families, volunteers and staff is of the upmost importance. With that being said, we ask that you consider holding your own Family Dance Party at home.

Here’s some ideas:
>>Pick a theme and decorate a space from items you have around the house or can create with construction paper, craft supplies, etc.
>>Dress up (whether it be fancy or the theme)
>>Have meal together and display refreshments to have during your dance party
>>Turn on the music (have everyone select some favorites) and have a blast!
>>TAKE PICTURES AND/OR VIDEOS to share on social media and challenge others
>>>>Please email them to Jennifer at [email protected] Or personal message them to the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center page. Be sure to send any names you want displayed and we’ll post on social media during the month of June.
>>Most IMPORTANTLY ENJOY this Time Together and LAUGH! *Keep in mind that some of the craziest mess-ups create the BEST MEMORIES and often less is more!

The Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center is proud to be part of an integral team in the first response to child abuse. We stand ready to serve the children and families throughout the counties of Camp, Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, Rains, Titus, Upshur and Wood. Through the commitment of a cooperative partnership of law enforcement, legal services, child protective services, medical services, therapeutic care providers, the community and other agencies involved in child abuse cases we are accomplishing our mission. NETCAC provides a safe space for children 2-17 years, to have a voice, to tell of their experience to a trained forensic interviewer. Since March 5th, 1998 over 9,300 voices have been heard!

Again, NETCAC relies heavily on our fundraisers and awareness, please consider making a donation to help NETCAC continue our mission.

The Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center offers a safe child friendly environment to all children between the ages of 2-17, who allegedly have been sexually or severely physically abused or have been a witness to a violent crime. The children who come to the NETCAC are allowed to tell of their experiences in a non-leading way to a trained forensic interviewer rather than having to repeat it multiple times to multiple agencies involved in the investigation and prosecution, therefore reducing the trauma to the child. Statistics show that 1 in 4 Girls and 1 in 6 Boys will be sexually abused by their 18th birthday. Since 1998, NETCAC has interviewed over 9,200 children! 541 children were interviewed in 2019, 607 children in 2018 and 434 children in 2017.
The NETCAC services children and their families in 8 counties. The center coordinates the efforts of professionals charged with the difficult work of investigating and prosecuting child abuse cases. The center relies on volunteers and funding through community donations. Without our community’s support, this much needed facility would not be available.
Currently, we are able to offer these services free of charge, thanks to funds raised, financial assistance from area businesses, in-kind and monetary donations, community support, some grant assistance, and the CAC board members and volunteers.
Part of breaking the cycle of abuse is to try to prevent it altogether. Many times this starts at home with the fathers or other male family members that serve as mentors to the children in the family. On July 18th, we will be holding the 9th Annual Father Daughter Dance for all ages. This event will give fathers or other important male role models in their families the opportunity to instill in their daughters, nieces, granddaughters, etc. the kind of positive treatment they should look for in men as they grow into young women. This event has become a special occasion that these young girls look forward to year after year and continues to provide wonderful memories that they can carry with them throughout their lives.
NETCAC is excited to continue expanding this event to provide a Mother Son Dance that has been such a success in the past 2 years. This will be scheduled July 17th, the same weekend as our Father Daughter Dance. We hope that this event will continue to strengthen bonds between mothers and their sons while providing a great opportunity for young boys/men to practice being gentlemen in the way that they treat the women that are so important to them. This Mother Son Dance is open to all ages.
We are looking for individuals and businesses to help support this event through sponsorships. Please read the attached form for more information. If you have any questions, please contact us. 100% of the proceeds from both events will come directly to NETCAC to aid in our mission. This event is underwritten by its sponsors.
We sincerely appreciate your consideration and continued support in making this event a success!
