You've worn a lot of labels. Inmate. Felon. Addict. Failure. Maybe somebody spoke those words over you so many times you started answering to them. But here's the truth: a label isn't the same as an identity, and the opinion of a system, a courtroom, or a past mistake is not the final word on who you are.

Doxa — glory — simply means God's opinion of you. Not a feeling. Not a mystical cloud. His actual estimate of your worth. And when Scripture says you're "glorified," it means what the Father says about you becomes visible for everyone to see. That's not something you earn behind bars or after release — it's something you receive by faith, because of what Jesus already finished.

So today, ask yourself: whose opinion are you living out of? The file in a cabinet, or the Father who calls you son, daughter, new creation?

You don't have to argue with every label the world hands you. You just have to believe God's word over it. He's not waiting for you to clean up before He calls you His. He already sees you whole, redeemed, and free — and His opinion is the one that sticks.

You've probably replayed the worst moments of your life more times than you can count — the charge, the sentence, the letter that never came, the mistake that defined you in everyone else's eyes. But here's the truth: you don't have to keep seeing yourself through that lens.

You can wake up today and know this: whatever happened before this moment — the charges, the sentence, the years, the choices you can't take back — they do not get the final word on who you are. When you are in Christ, old things passed away. Not improved. Not managed. Passed away. Your past died with Him, and you were raised to walk in something new.

That cell can't hold your identity hostage. That record can't define you forever. The system may keep a file on you, but God doesn't file you under what you did — He calls you by what Christ already accomplished for you. You are not the worst thing you've ever done. You are not what the paperwork says. You are who He says you are, and He says you're new.

This matters for the man still inside wondering if there's any point in starting over. It matters for the woman coming home, afraid everyone will only see her past. It matters for the family waiting, wondering if things can really be different this time. They can. Because it was never about turning over a new leaf — it's about a new creation. The old is gone. That's your actual reality right now, today, whether you're behind a fence or walking free on the outside trying to rebuild.

You can't white-knuckle your way into change. You can rehearse better behavior, recite rules, grit your teeth through another day — and still feel like nothing's really different on the inside. That's because real transformation doesn't start with your hands. It starts with your mind.

God isn't asking you to fix yourself before He'll accept you. He's already settled who you are in Christ. The work now is renewing your mind — bringing your thoughts about yourself into agreement with what He already says is true. Doubt whispers two options: who God says you are, or who your record says you are. You don't have to hold both. Eliminate the lie, and let His opinion be the only one left standing.

This matters whether you're in a cell tonight, sitting across a visitation table, or waiting on a phone call. Your environment didn't define you and it doesn't get the final word. When your mind lines up with how God sees you, it stops being theory — it starts showing up in how you carry yourself, how you speak, how you treat people, how you hope. Inside out, not outside in. Let your thinking change first. Everything else follows.

You didn't have to clean yourself up before God loved you. He didn't wait for the right verdict, the right record, or the right version of you to show up. He loved you in the cell. He loved you in the courtroom. He loved you before you ever got anything right — and that love hasn't moved an inch since.

Pastor Tommy Miller reminds us that when Eve hid in the garden, it wasn't God who pulled away — it was her own rejection of herself that created the illusion of distance. God never left. God has an opinion of you — and His opinion was never built on your worst day. It was settled in Christ before you ever made a mistake. The word for this is "doxa" — glory — which really just means God's estimate, His judgment, His verdict over your life. This isn't about pretending the past didn't happen. It's about refusing to let it keep defining who you are today. You are not your worst day. You are not what the system calls you. You are who God says you are, and He says: new creation.
