FCC staff attended the annual Food Bank of Northern Nevada Conference. Staff had the opportunity to earn their food safety certificates while also learning about important and impactful programs, resources, and initiatives happening throughout Nevada. It was a great opportunity to connect and learn valuable information.

🌟Meet Tania Alvarez, FRC Office Manager

We’re excited to introduce Tania Alvarez, who has been part of the Frontier Community Coalition (FCC) team two years and brings over a decade of experience working in the Family Resource Center. Tania is an essential part of our team, helping keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. From managing program data and reporting for Humboldt, Lander, and Pershing Counties to coordinating community events and outreach activities, she plays an important role in supporting FCC’s mission. She also helps supervise and train staff, ensuring our team is equipped to serve the community effectively. As a bilingual team member, Tania helps connect with community member’s. We’re grateful for Tania's dedication, leadership, and commitment to supporting individuals and families in our communities!💙

🌟 Meet Tapatha Yazzie! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce Tapatha Yazzie, our Programs Case Manager!

With two years at FCC and several additional years of experience with the Family Resource Center, Tapatha brings a strong commitment to supporting individuals and families in our community. In her role, she provides case management, outreach, housing and utility assistance, and home visits, helping clients navigate challenges, connect with resources, and work toward greater stability. Her outreach also extends into rural and tribal communities throughout Humboldt County, helping ensure that support reaches people where they are. While working full-time as a Case Manager, she is also completing her graduate school internship and an internship focused on Peer Support Specialist training, continuing to grow her knowledge and skills while serving our community. Her dedication to meeting clients where they are, finding solutions, and connecting people to the support they need makes her an invaluable part of our FCC team and the communities we serve.

🌟Meet Johanny Catalan🌟

We’re exited to introduce Johanny Catalan, Family Resource Coordinator at Frontier Community Coalition (FCC) - Winnemucca!

Johanny has been apart of the FCC team for approximately a year and a half. She first joined FCC as an AmeriCorps member and, through her dedication and commitment to the community, transitioned into a permanent staff position. In her role at FCC, Johanny supports both the Family Resource Center and Prevention programs, helping connect individuals and families with needed resources and services. As a bilingual team member, she supports both English and Spanish speaking community members, helping make FCC’s services more accessible. She also assists with welfare-related documents, community events, outreach, and monthly reporting that contributes to the day-to-day work that helps FCC serve the community. Johanny is continuing her education while completing an internship as a Peer Support Specialist, further developing her skills to support individuals and families.

We are grateful to have Johanny as part of the FCC team and appreciate her dedication and knowledge she brings to our community 💙
