Stay socially involved.
Learn to identify challenges, prioritize needs, and strategize your daily routine.

Research potential care costs;
Check if you are eligible for government benefits that help with prescriptions, transportation, and meals;
Review long-term care insurance;

Legal matters such as Powers of Attorney;
Let your wishes be known for care and as death draws near;
Prepare all documents including your Will and Advance Directives;
Take an inventory of your legal documents - can others retrieve them if need be?
Clearly define your wishes for future health care and treatment including end-of-life wishes.

Keep relationships positive and productive by being open about your feelings and experiences living with Alzheimer's. Learn how to ask for and accept help. Let others know what you want and need - or do not want and do not need. Re-evaluate relationships - there are some people that you just have to let go.

Loss of independence as others take on roles that you previously filled such as driving or cooking.
Less involvement in conversations that may involve you. It is important to speak up - you are always an autonomous being.
Worry and concern may burden you are your fret about burdening others. Learn to accept help and support while also maintaining the power of "NO!"
