🎓🎉 Graduation Season Is Here — Let’s Keep Our Youth Safe! 🎉🎓

Many parents believe that allowing alcohol at graduation parties is safer because teens are “under supervision.” Unfortunately, research shows the opposite.

📊 70% of teens who hosted a party with alcohol said their parents knew alcohol was available.

Alcohol remains one of the biggest threats to youth health and safety, contributing to impaired judgment, risky behaviors, injuries, and fatal crashes. Graduation should be a time of celebration, not regret.

Parents Who Host, Lose the Most.

✅ Host alcohol-free celebrations.
✅ Know where your teens are.
✅ Talk openly about expectations.
✅ Work together as a community to keep our youth safe.

Let’s make this graduation season one filled with memories, laughter, and bright futures—not preventable tragedies.

💙💛

BIG TO***CO. BIG VA**NG. BIG PROFITS.

Did you know that to***co and va**ng companies spend billions of dollars every year marketing products designed to attract the next generation of customers? While advertising has changed over the years, the goal remains the same: get young people hooked on ni****ne.

Today’s marketing often includes sweet flavors, colorful packaging, trendy designs, social media influencers, and messaging that makes va**ng look harmless or even healthy. These tactics are carefully designed to appeal to youth and young adults.

The truth is that ni****ne can impact brain development, increase anxiety and mood issues, affect attention and learning, and lead to lifelong addiction. Most adult to***co users began using ni****ne products before the age of 18.

So what can we do?

✅ Talk openly with young people about the risks of ni****ne and va**ng.

✅ Teach youth how advertising and social media influence their choices.

✅ Support policies that reduce youth access to to***co and va**ng products.

✅ Encourage healthy activities, sports, leadership programs, and positive peer connections.

✅ Be positive role models and create environments where youth can thrive without ni****ne.

At Frontier Community Coalition, we believe prevention starts with education, connection, and empowering young people to make healthy choices. Together, we can help protect the next generation from the ni****ne trap.

Stronger Together. Healthier Together.

Our Movie Night was a huge success! We had approximately 53 people come out and enjoy an evening filled with fun, laughter, and community. Families enjoyed hot dogs, chips, shaved ice, cotton candy, and popcorn while spending quality time together.

A big thank you to the First Baptist Winnemucca for partnering with the Warrior Youth Team to make this event possible. Events like these provide our youth and families with safe, positive opportunities to connect, build relationships, and create lasting memories.

At the Warrior Youth Team and Frontier Community Coalition, we believe prevention starts with connection. When young people have healthy activities, supportive adults, and strong community ties, they are less likely to engage in alcohol, to***co, and drug use. Creating spaces where families can come together is one of the many ways we help promote healthy choices and positive lifestyles.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this event. We can’t wait to bring even more family-friendly activities to our community this summer!

Alcohol prevention starts with awareness, education, and community support.

Too many young people in Nevada are struggling with alcohol use at an early age, and the effects can impact mental health, school performance, relationships, and future opportunities. Prevention matters because every conversation, every trusted adult, and every positive activity can make a difference in a child’s life.

Our youth deserve safe spaces, healthy role models, and communities that remind them they are valued and supported. Together we can help prevent underage drinking and encourage healthier choices for the next generation.

💙 Prevention works.
💛 Connection matters.
🫶 One conversation can change a life.

Alcohol prevention starts with education, connection, and community.

In Nevada, youth alcohol use continues to impact families, schools, and communities across the state. According to the Nevada Youth Risk Behavior Survey, many Nevada teens report early exposure to alcohol and risky behaviors connected to substance use. Prevention matters because the earlier alcohol use begins, the higher the risk for addiction, mental health struggles, accidents, violence, and long-term health issues later in life. (scholarwolf.unr.edu)

At the Frontier Community Coalition and Warrior Youth Team, we believe every young person deserves opportunities, support, mentorship, and safe spaces where they can grow without the pressures of drugs and alcohol.

Prevention is more than saying “no.”
It’s creating strong families.
It’s building confidence in our youth.
It’s providing positive activities, leadership opportunities, mental health support, and community connections.

When communities come together, we can protect our youth and help them build healthy futures filled with purpose, hope, and strength. 💙💛

Thank you to everyone who continues to support prevention efforts in our community and across Nevada. Together we are making a difference — one conversation, one event, and one child at a time.
