Mary the angora goat got sheared this weekend. It’s taken a few years but I think her and I have figured it out. Last year she was left with a big Santa beard, but this year we went with the all over buzz cut look ❤️ She always looks so much smaller and younger without her hair. Fun fact: her fur is called “mohair”, the alpacas’ fur is called “fleece”, and the sheep’s fur is called “wool”. ✂️✂️

GUESS HOW MANY POUNDS WERE SHEARED OFF TODAY!? And we’re only half way done! Seriously - put them in the comments. I’ll give you a hint, it filled a whole black trash bag! Molly was feeling left out so she got some screen time. Pearl may look funny, but she couldn’t care less- I can see her walking easier and she’s out there romping around with Molly. ❤️❤️❤️

Wish us luck! Tomorrow morning I’ll be shearing Pearl! I shear the angoras every year, but my first time shearing a sheep. I’m doing it myself (instead of having a shearer do it) so I can stop if she gets too stressed. At the very least I need to get her eyes cleared, and hopefully I can get the majority of her trunk off. It looks heavy! Maybe even a quick pedicure and vaccines if it’s going well. It won’t be a fancy pretty haircut, but I can’t wait to see what she looks like under there!! Molly is around for moral support, she won’t need shearing because she is a “hairsheep.”✂️✂️ 🐑🐑
