Now Hiring: Cultural Specialist (Contract)
DARTNA Drum Youth Treatment Program | Youth Crisis Intervention Center (YCIC)
Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska

The Cultural Specialist will support tribal youth by integrating Ho-Chunk drum culture, traditions, and values into treatment services. This role includes participating in weekly treatment sessions, serving on the treatment team, advising on culturally appropriate care, and contributing to program planning and development.

Applicants must be knowledgeable in Ho-Chunk drum culture and able to share cultural teachings to support youth healing and growth.

Responsibilities also include completing required trainings, assisting with grant reporting, supporting youth progress, and maintaining awareness of behavioral health challenges affecting tribal youth and families, including substance use, trauma, depression, and su***de.

Pay: $25/hour (up to 1,500 hours per year)
Duration: Grant-funded through September 30, 2028

Position contingent upon background check, pre-employment drug/alcohol screening, and other requirements. Selection does not guarantee a contract.

Hours: 20 hours per week
Wage: $25.00 per hour

Duration: Approximately 8-12 weeks (with potential for extension)

About the Role: YCIC and Youth Shelter is seeking a reliable and compassionate Temporary Part-Time Cook to support our team. This is a contract position, responsible for ensuring that youth in our care have access to consistent, nutritious, and well-prepared meals in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks for shelter residents
Ensure meals meet basic nutritional standards and accommodate dietary needs where possible
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies
Work collaboratively with staff to support shelter operations

Qualifications:
Experience in cooking for groups or in a commercial/institutional kitchen preferred
Knowledge of food safety practices (Food Handler Certification is an asset)
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work in a respectful, youth-centered, and trauma-informed environment

Additional Information:
This is a temporary contract position with an expected duration of approximately 8-12 weeks
The contract may be extended based on organizational needs
Flexibility in scheduling may be required
A background check may be required prior to engagement
