We were fortunate enough to have good weather this year for Diversity Jam on April 25th! The WAHC hosted a diversity craft for the event in Island Park where kids could decorate their own unique little people and take home their projects with them. Later that evening, folks boogied the night away to...

You don't want to miss out on being downtown tomorrow evening! If you love art like we do, head over to the Marquee Performing Arts Center for wonderful presentations and showcases of "Sights and Sounds of Literature." Then stop by Gallery 1001 for the reception of their guest artist, Marie Taylor, and her exhibition "Reflections in a Rush" along with a performance by Sunblush! It will be a great day to take in all kinds of art πŸŽ¨πŸŒžπŸŽΈπŸ“–

The Marquee Performing Arts Center is thrilled to present its upcoming First (Available) Friday event, "Sights and Sounds of Literature," on Friday, April 10, from 5 PM to 7 PM. This free event welcomes the warmth of spring with an evening celebrating the intersection of visual art, spoken word, and creative writing.
Michelle Boucher, Associate Professor of English at SC, will present her poetry program, Living in Provocative Times and Joshua Hamilton, PhD and Assistant Professor of English at SC, will read from his full-length poetry collection, Excavator. In addition, Shiven Saxen, Assistant Professor of Digital Arts at SC, will exhibit his visual poetry and collage pieces, providing a unique fusion of art and words. Jo Brazil and Ruth Bumgarner, librarians at Winfield Public Library, will present Rising to the Top, featuring award-winning books currently available at the Winfield Public Library.
This event is free to attend, with concessions available by donation. All proceeds and donations will support the Marquee, helping to sustain the arts in our community. Join us for a celebration of creativity, literature, and local talent at the Marquee, located at 1007 Main, Winfield.
For more information about this and other events, visit the Marquee Performing Arts Center’s website at www.marqueepac.org.

We have these amazing centerpieces for the four seasons left over from our Evening for the Arts fundraiser that need new homes! Our board member, Jim Perrigo, made these amazing trees from scratch and put so much time and effort into them - we would love to see them be used again!

We have 4 autumn trees, 4 winter trees, 4 spring trees, and 4 summer trees. All have fairy lights attached to them that really make them shine!

If another nonprofit can use them, please reach out to Megan at 620-221-2161 or email [email protected]. Or, if anyone would like to buy them, please send me an offer! We need to find new homes for them before summer classes start!
