Yesterday was State Livestock Judging in Ames, at Iowa State University, for 3 of our members competing as a team. As a team of 3, all scores count every time, they do not get a drop score. There were 50 FFA Chapters and 172 members competing in the contest. There were 12 classes of livestock for them to judge and four of those classes they had to give oral reasons on to a judge.
We are proud to report overall as a team they placed 23rd which gave them a Silver rating. They are also placed individually: Tate Beard placed 21st overall, Abigail Loyd placed 82nd overall, and Lydia Meeker placed 149th overall. Tate Beard had 4 perfect scores of “50” and Abigail had 2 perfect scores.
We are so proud of how they did and how they have worked on their skills of evaluating animals.
