"I don’t think I’m ready to say this because saying it out loud makes it real.
This stage, these lights, it’s been such a big part of my life.
You didn’t just direct a show. You took all of us with our nerves, our mistakes, our little moments of doubt and you turned us into something stronger. You made us believe we could do things we never thought we could.
You stayed when things got hard. You fixed things no one else even noticed. You gave so much of your time and your heart, just so we could stand here and feel proud of ourselves and let us know we did it, every single show.
Starting out as an ensemble when we did Elf when I started in 2nd grade, now standing here 6th grade in the wonderful role. And I know why I am here, it’s because of you. Seeking the talent in every single one of your students, to make them shine as much as they can.
Because of you, Mrs. Bucaro- I'm braver, I’m louder, I’m someone who has courage to do things.
And now this was my last show with you.
I’m not just saying goodbye to a director I'm saying goodbye to someone who helped shape who I am now.
I wish I could stay in this moment a little longer. On this stage, with you by my side. I wish to hear you give one more note, or tell us "one more time" even though you really want to do it 8 more times.
But even though I have to leave, I’m taking you with me. In every audition, every stage, every time I get nervous and remember everything you taught me.
So thank you for believing in me and all of us for pushing me and for caring about all of us more than you probably even realize.
Thank you, Mrs Bucaro."
