Windsor Jaycees We invite you to become part of the Windsor Jaycees, an organization of people who are making a difference in Windsor, CT through volunteering.

Want to benefit your community and make great friends in the process? The Jaycees is one of the world's largest volunteer associations. For the past 86 years, Jaycees have been a force for good in America and around the world. The Windsor Jaycee Chapter focuses on the community in and welfare of those who live and work in Windsor, Connecticut.

We can't wait until Saturday! Look at all the things going on at the Windsor Shad Derby. In addition to the Parade and Festival on the Green from the Windsor Jaycees, there are lots of options for all ages. WIN-TV will be there selling official Shad Derby T-shirts at our booth as well as filming all day. See you there!

Presenting the 2026 ShadDerby Parade Grand Marshal - Gene Donaldson!

Gene Donaldson, a lifelong resident of Windsor, has been a dedicated figure in the local music community for decades. A graduate of Windsor High School’s Class of 1971, Gene continued his musical education at the Hartt College of Music, further developing the skills that would define his long and vibrant career.

Since 1970, Gene has been teaching guitar and bass at Windsor Music, sharing his passion for music with generations of students and helping shape the local music scene.

Over the years, Gene has performed with numerous bands, most notably the Motown Review from 1985 to 1991 and the Stingrays from 1992 to the present. His talent has also taken him on tour with blues artists, including Lee “Shot” Williams.

In recognition of his contributions to blues music, Gene was inducted into the Connecticut Blues Hall of Fame in 2019.

Through his decades of performing, teaching, and supporting the arts, Gene Donaldson has become a respected and beloved member of the Windsor music community, making him a fitting choice as Grand Marshal of the Shad Derby Parade 👏

🎄Reminder! 🎄 Windsor Jaycees are out today and tomorrow selling trees to raise money for our scholarship program. You can find us at our new location at the Beer Garden At Bart's on Palisado Ave. Tree sales are from 10am until 5pm. $70 per tree.

-- If you already have a tree stop by and say hi, donations are welcome too. --

Next week, is our last week we will be selling-- No more trees after the 21st of December.
