Today is . We are the Angels Take Flight Foundation. Founded by licensed therapist & educator Tamara Blake, Ed.D in 2010 after she saw children carrying their clothing & belongings in garbage bags. It was then that Tamara took donations of bags & luggage to provide for the children. Angels Take Flight was made. It was officially made a nonprofit beginning in Springfield, Massachusetts & then growing to chapters in Arlington, Virginia & Windsor, Connecticut.

Our mission is to restore dignity, pride, & positive self-esteem in the children of our community by providing them with essential items to empower their sense of lost hope & confidence that they often experience due to the trauma caused when major transitions occur. Instead of moving place to place with their belongings in garage bags, Angels Take Flight gives these children a piece of luggage, which they can keep. We strive to make any transition easier. Our goal is to give children their wings, providing them with the courage to soar.

Empowering a brighter tomorrow, one bag at a time. ⭐️ Our custom logo bag, and a generous donation from one of our supporters, is on its way to PA to bring hope to a child who is transitioning from a hospital to a shelter. No child deserves to carry their belongings in a garbage bag. We are dedicated to restoring dignity, pride, and positive self-esteem in the children of our community. Your donations are the wind beneath their wings, giving them the courage to soar! 🥰 Thank you for being a part of their journey and a beacon of hope. 💕🌈

As a reminder, please remember to clean out your bags or luggage before donating them to us. We have found all types of things left behind in bags. Please be mindful of the condition of the luggage as well. Remember that our mission is to help restore a sense of hope and confidence. Thank you again to all of those who have recently donated and for all of those who continue to support our charity. We are blessed everyday by wonderful people like you. You truly make a difference to the children of our community.

to our virtual 5K that our board members participated in back in 2020. All three members were in three different states!! We are thankful for all of the individuals who registered & participated in this event with us. We are hoping to bring the 5K event back soon. Thank you again for all of your support & donations.

Angels Take Flight is an organization that helps restore dignity, pride and positive self-esteem to children. They provide luggage and other transitional items to children who have to move from place to place including foster care placements, hospital settings, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters or other safe homes. They also assist children during the holiday season by holding toy drives, which directly benefit the children of the community.
