Diamonds in the Rough Rescue's annual Haunted Barn was developed by some of Hampton Roads' most creative minds in haunting. In our twelfth year, the Haunted Barn is more terrifying than ever. This year we start on the 13th of October and are open every Friday and Saturday until the end of the month. Okay, Haunted Barn fam, the fog has lifted, the chainsaws are cooled off, and the last skeleton has finally been put away. 👻 But before we lock the barn doors until next year, we’ve got something important to share.

The Haunted Barn is Diamonds in the Rough Rescue's biggest fundraiser of the year, and thanks to all of you, every ticket, treat, and scare raised funds that will help support our horses for the next 12 months! 🐎💙

But here’s the truth: caring for rescue horses takes A LOT and our costs go well beyond what one amazing month can cover. We rely on generous people like you to help us keep our program strong and growing year-round.

Haunted Barn Concessions food fans, this one's for you! 🎃🍎

If you snagged one of our famous Haunted Barn caramel apples this season, you didn’t just treat yourself, you helped feed families right here in our community. 💛

That’s right! Every delicious Gala apple we dipped, swirled, and sprinkled came from Food Lion, which supports the Food Lion Feeds program.

✨Each bag of apples we purchased provided the equivalent of 5 meals to local feeding partners. Y'all know we make a WHOLE lot of caramel apples throughout the month of October, which means your sweet tooth helped put real meals (and hope!) on the table for local families. 💖

So to everyone who took a bite out of one of those gooey, golden beauties, thank you for helping us make a difference...one caramel apple at a time. 🍏➡️🍎➡️❤️

What. A. Season. From the screams echoing through the barn to the laughter around the concession stand, this year’s Haunted Barn was one for the books! 🔥

We want to give a HUGE thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, and visitor who helped make this event such a chilling success. Whether you braved the barn, took a ride in a hearse, or fueled up on deep-fried Oreos, YOU were part of what made this season unforgettable. 🖤

Every ticket, snack, and scare helped support Diamonds in the Rough Rescue, giving local horses a second chance at life. Your support means more than you know.

Today, Snowy is thriving in his forever home, because of you. 💜
