The Windsor Educational Foundation is a partnership between the Windsor School District, teachers, school administrators, parents, local businesses, and the Windsor community at large coming together to enhance educational excellence in all Windsor schools. The WE Foundation works with its partners to identify needs through grant requests, scholarships and other fund raising programs.

The WE Foundation would like to sincerely thank the Active 20-30 of Healdsburg #205 for their $5,000 donation to the WE Foundation Scholarship Program and 10th Annual Scholarship Breakfast! Jordan Irwin, Club 205 Member and husband of Club 205 President Julia Irwin, was pleased to attend on behalf of their club. Over the next few weeks, the WE Foundation will be recognizing our partners and sponsors that made our 10th Annual Scholarship Breakfast such an incredible success. To kick off our weeks of gratitude, we would like to start by thanking the Active 20-30 of Santa Rosa #50 , Platinum Sponsor of this year's Scholarship Program and 10th Annual Scholarship Breakfast. Active 20-30 has been one of our largest sponsors each and every year, going all the way back to our 1st annual event. 10 years in, they've given nearly $60,000 to support college scholarships for WUSD students. Last Friday, WE welcomed Windsor's educational, business, and community leaders at our 10th Annual Scholarship Breakfast. From the Mayor of Windsor to the Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools and Superintendent of WUSD, Principals, counselors, teachers, administrators, students, local business owners and managers, and even the founders of the scholarship breakfast event itself, WE came together as a community to support WUSD students - raising more than $40,000 for college scholarships along the way. We also heard from two gifted students who hope to earn one of our college scholarships to further their educational and career goals.

In the weeks ahead, please follow us as we recognize our incredible event sponsors who made this year a success, and on behalf of our entire Board, WE sincerely thank all those who attended, donated, or sponsored for your incredible generosity and support of our marquee program this year, and over the last 10 years. Thank you to SchoolsRule Sonoma County for providing funding to the WE Foundation to invest in a campus beautification project at Cali Calmécac Language Academy! Cali's beautification effort covered both indoor and outdoor areas - improving student well-being and making the campus environment more relaxing and enjoyable for students and teachers alike. WE are proud to partner with Cali Calmécac and SchoolsRule to be able to invest in Windsor's only public charter school with a bilingual immersion curriculum.

Thank you to SchoolsRule Sonoma County for providing funding to the WE Foundation to invest in flexible seating at Brooks Elementary School! Flexible seating allows for increased engagement, coupled with improved physical and mental well-being. You don't always find this kind of seating in a classroom setting, but in classrooms where flexible seating is available, teachers have noted that students feel more comfortable and productive. WE are proud to partner with Brooks Elementary and SchoolsRule to be able to provide these seating options for Brooks students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

The WE Foundation is proud to continue our partnership with SchoolsRule Sonoma County! Last month, the WE Foundation was awarded $12,361.49 from SchoolsRule to support programs focused on literacy, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), student well-being, and agriculture and hospitality in the Windsor Unified School District.

This is the second year of SchoolsRule's partnership with Sonoma County schools and local education foundations. Last year, the WE Foundation received $10,067.50 from SchoolsRule in its inaugural year, which the WE Foundation reinvested back into our schools following a competitive grant process with all WUSD campuses to fund the following initiatives:

- $2,500 to Cali Calmécac Language Academy for their campus beautification program.
- $2,500 to Brooks Elementary School for flexible seating for students.
- $2,500 to Windsor Middle School for a new, Farm-to-Fork Culinary Garden Program.
- $2,500 to Windsor High School to support WHS' food science program.

We look forward to collaborating with WUSD schools to continue investing in our schools during the 2025-26 school year. CLASS OF 2026: The WE Foundation Scholarship Application is now open! Whether you plan to attend trade school, junior college, or a 4-year university, we encourage you to apply for one of our scholarships! Last year, we were pleased to issue more than 20 scholarships to Class of 2025 graduates, along with matching funds for 5 additional scholarships awarded by WUSD. No income or GPA requirements - the only qualifying criteria is that you are a WUSD graduating senior in 2026, and attend school in the WUSD (Windsor High School, Big Picture Learning Academy or Windsor Oaks Academy).
