Last week our friend and colleague, Paramedic Mike Glazier, and his family were on vacation in Florida when Mike's son, JD, entered hospice care. It is with profound sadness that we now share that JD has since passed away. They are far from home, their support system, and the comfort of familiar surroundings. Our hearts are with Mike and his entire family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. While no words can ease the pain of losing a child, we hope our community can continue to surround them with the compassion and support they so deeply deserve.

Throughout this journey, the Glazier family will face significant medical expenses, extended travel and lodging costs while in Florida, and now the additional financial burdens that come with bringing JD home and handling final arrangements. During a time when their focus should be on grieving and healing, these unexpected expenses only add to an already overwhelming situation.

We are asking our community to continue standing with Mike and his family by supporting their GoFundMe fundraiser. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping ease these financial burdens, allowing the Glazier family to focus on one another in the difficult days ahead.

Congratulations to Ja’Quise Green the successful completion of his Paramedic Program! 👏

After 16 months of a demanding and rigorous educational program, Green has officially crossed the finish line! This achievement represents countless hours of studying, clinical rotations, ambulance ride time, exams, and unwavering dedication—all while working full-time as an EMT serving the Town of Windsor and our surrounding communities. His commitment to advancing his skills while continuing to provide exceptional care to our patients is something we're incredibly proud of.

Now there's just one final challenge... the legendary wait for that Connecticut State Paramedic number. 😄 Some say it's the toughest part of the entire process!

Today, we’re proud to recognize the incredible teamwork and dedication of our first responders.

Earlier this year, our ambulance crews and Windsor police officers responded to a call for an unresponsive patient who went into cardiac arrest. Thanks to their quick actions, strong communication, and seamless teamwork, they were able to provide lifesaving care right away.

Because of their efforts, that patient not only survived—but was later discharged home with no neurological deficits. In simple terms, they made a full recovery and returned to their normal life.

This kind of outcome doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of training, trust, and collaboration between agencies working side by side when every second counts.

Today, we honor these responders with lifesaving awards in recognition of their skill, professionalism, and commitment to our community.

🚑 Exciting News for Windsor EMS! 🚑

After almost two years of waiting, our new fleet of ambulances has officially arrived! All five new ambulances are now here and are in the final stages of radio installation, equipment setup, and required state inspections.

We’re excited to share that the first ambulance will be placed into service today, with the remaining units going into service over the next couple of weeks.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Town of Windsor for their continued support in acquiring these new ambulances. Your commitment helps ensure our crews have the tools they need to serve the community safely and effectively.

While these ambulances bring a new look to Windsor EMS, their true value is in how they will help us continue providing the highest level of pre-hospital care to the residents of Windsor.
