Pat and Judy Phipps dedicated their lives to the Windsor Community and especially the School District. Pat served on the Windsor School Board for 12+ years. He walked by faith, and could light up a room with his kind smile and friendly, outgoing personality. He never knew a stranger. Judy taught kindergarten at Windsor for 29 years, where she poured her heart and soul into the education of young children. She set the bar high and was an inspiration to educators not only in Windsor, but across the United States.
Our goal in sorting through applicants for this award was to find someone who embodied many of the same characteristics as Pat and Judy. Our pool was small, but we think had we had even 1,000 applicants, this one would have stood out just as much - as she is someone who leads by example, shows kindness and grace in all walks of her life, and dreams of making a difference in the lives of children (and we KNOW she will). We are so proud to present the 2023 Pat and Judy Phipps Memorial Scholarship Award to Kiersten Wheeler. Congratulations, Kiersten!!!
