Shaving cream play helps toddlers build fine motor, sensory, language, and early learning skills through fun hands-on exploration. It also encourages creativity, calmness, and positive parent-child interaction.
At first, my two year old I visit was hesitant to touch the shaving cream because of the unfamiliar texture.
Grandma supported and encouraged her by touching the shaving cream alongside her and modeling how to explore it safely.
As the visit continued, the toddler became more comfortable using her senses to feel, spread, and experiment with the shaving cream.
By the end of the visit, she was smiling and having fun engaging in the sensory activity.
