Dear friends and members of our community. APA has been conducting cultural and charitable programs for past 9 years. It also provides a platform as a charitable organization to raise funds for disaster relief work.
Since all of our projects and programs are run by volunteers we have a less than 1 % over head expense. We rely on membership fee to cover our expenses of accounting, printing etc.
We would like to run a membership renewal campaign. We hope that everyone who appreciates APA's work will renew the annual membership soon. Here are the fees:
Family: $25.
Single adult: $15
Student $10.
Please do renew your membership and support your organization. mail the checks at 9303 Dole Circle, Windermere, FL 34786.

(Orlando, FL, 6/12/16) – The Association of Pakistani Americans of Central Florida extends heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of those killed or injured in the senseless shooting of attendees of the nightclub in Orlando. We condemn this brutal and senseless attack on innocent lives and denounce any violence in any shape or form, religious or otherwise. The Pakistani American community stands in solidarity with our fellow Americans in rejecting anyone or any group that would claim to justify or validate such a horrifying act of violence.
We praise and appreciate the Orange county Police officers who did a marvelous job in saving and helping the survivors. We pray for the wellbeing of the police officer who was injured in the incident.
Let us keep our community together and united as one in the face of atrocities. Let us work together to keep our community strong.
Last but not the least we would like to thank the city & state leaders for their leadership in this difficult time.
We request our community members to donate blood for those injured in the attack. You can find a list of donor centers near you. visit www.oneblood.org or call 1.888.9Donate.

Muslims to open free medical clinic and conduct community dialogue about peace.
The Muslim Council of America, supported by an array of Muslim medical doctors in the Kissimmee/South Orlando area, will celebrate the grand opening of a free medical clinic for the region's uninsured on Saturday, April 23, from 9:15 to 10:00 am, at 700 Generation Point, Kissimmee, FL 34744. Those who attend will learn briefly about the array of free services being offered by the new clinic, as well as catch a glimpse of the varied contributions Muslims make to the Central Florida community.

From 10:00 to 11:45 am, immediately following the clinic opening, the Muslim Council of America-in collaboration of the Interfaith Council of Central Florida, several houses of worship and a number of community-based organizations-will host a dialogue designed to bring Muslims and non Muslims of America closer to one another. Estranged under the shadow of terrorism, more Muslims, but actually both are struggling and are in search for peace. Participating in the dialogue will be Dr. Mohammed Akhtar, President of the Muslim Council of America, Pastor James Coffin of the Interfaith Council of Central Florida, candidate for the U.S. Senate Alan Grayson, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives Dr. Dena Minning, University scholars, Media thinkers, Religious and other community leaders.

Thank you to everyone from Orlando and neighboring towns who attended APA's annual Chand Raat Mela. You guys make it successful every year with your presence and participation. Though we had a mishap this year, as one of our food vendor called in sick and could not show up at the last minute, it was a loss for him too. We still had a great time with our families. See you next year, IA. But wait the Annual Eid dinner is planned for September 26, we will post some details in near future. EiD Mubarak!

Dear Florida family,
As you are aware the severe heatwave continues on in Pakistan and more than 1500 people have died in Karachi. People are helping people because there is lack of assistance and from government and no infrastructure to sustain the calamity of this kind. People are miserable and are dying due to sheer heat and lack of electricity, water and healthcare.
Association of Pakistani Americans of Central Florida is supporting the relief work in Karachi by collecting funds and sending it to one of our team members who is on ground in Karachi right now.
Our board Samina Shaikh is spearheading the project "Help Karachi beat the Heat" and has collected $4000, which was donated by APA board and members so far. $2000 have already been sent to our member in Karachi who has distributed 1. Water, Juices, Lemonade, Activade, ORS, and Paedialite.
2. medicine and medical equipment to hospitals in Landhi & Korangi, Karachi.
3. Towels and clothing for patients.
4. Emergency medical aid and medicine.
People are donating AC and other equipment as well to the hospitals which don't have them, and we can do that if we collect enough funds. We have started small but we can do so much more with your help.
May we ask you to join hands with us and give your Zakat or Sadqa in the holy month of Ramazan? May Allah SWT protect everyone from all calamities and mishaps and May He help us all. May He Bless Pakistan and help its miserable people.
Kindly call or text Samina Shaikh at 407-222-7444 to donate. Let us know if you have any questions.
JazakAllah Khair.
Sajid Chaudhary.
President APA.

Our heartfelt prayers and best wishes for the Nepali Brethrens in this time of hardship. The tragedy occurring after a massive scale earthquake reminds us of our own pain in October 2005 when Northern Pakistan was hit by a major earthquake. The international community has come together to help and we are proud of all the assistance that USA & Pakistan is providing to Nepal. May God be with the victims and their families as we all pitch in to help as much as we can.
