Feeding Barrow

Feeding Barrow Feeding Barrow is a Barrow County School System program that is aimed at closing the hunger gap for food insecure students.

We partner with three non-profit agencies to provide weekend meals to students who would otherwise not have enough food to eat. Every week Feeding Barrow distributes sacks of kid-friendly food, enough for at least six meals, to children who might not otherwise have enough to eat over the weekend. Launched in January 2008, Feeding Barrow started out by providing weekly food sacks to roughly 8 stude

nts. Currently we serve 450 student each week with weekend meals. In addition we partner with Spirit of Sharing to provide a monthly mobile food pantry for any Barrow County resident in need.
