To Every Cat Owner Who Hasn't Spayed or Neutered Yet:

​We are drowning, and it’s only June.
​Every single summer, rescues and shelters brace themselves for "Kitten Season." But this year, the wave didn’t just hit us - it overwhelmed us. We are at an absolute breaking point. Fosters are completely maxed out, shelters are at double capacity, resources are depleted, and volunteers are running on fumes and heartbreak.

​When we beg you to fix your pets, we hear the same refrains:
​"But I want my kids to experience the miracle of birth."
​"I'll just find good homes for the kittens myself."
​"My cat stays indoors anyway, it’s fine."

​The Harsh Reality: You Are Not an Island
​Please, stop and look at the bigger picture. Your cat and their potential litter do not exist in a vacuum. You might think, "It’s just four or five kittens, what’s the big deal?"
​The big deal is that you are one of tens of thousands of people saying the exact same thing right now.

Need a little help feeding your pets this month? Swing by our shelter this Saturday between 9AM–1PM to pick up free pet food, toys, or litter from our Full Bellies Pet Pantry! Just drive around to the back of our facility and look for the garage!

It’s time to feed the kitties again! We support 7 caretakers in Barrow county who feed approximately 100 cats every day. They didn’t choose these cats but they reached out to us for help with spay/neuter and food. Thanks to your generosity the cats are happy and have full bellies. The numbers are tough to hear: up to 80% of outdoor kittens don’t make it. But behind that statistic is an opportunity for us to step up.

​Every time we practice TNVR, we prevent community cat overpopulation. Every time a volunteer takes in a tiny bottle-baby kitten, we beat the odds.

​We can't change the world overnight, but we can change it for them. Thank you to every foster, donor, and caretaker fighting for these tiny lives!

Vaccine clinic on 6/14!

We are hosting a low-cost pet vaccine clinic on Sunday, June 14 from 2-4 PM at Barrow County Animal Control in Winder. We will also offer microchipping for dogs and cats. All dogs and cats at least six weeks of age are welcome; Barrow county residency is not required. Payment must be made in cash. PLEASE NOTE — if your pet cannot maintain decorum in line around other people and pets and be easily handled by our veterinary staff, we will unfortunately be unable to serve you.

This is an indoor event so don’t let the threat of rain prevent you from coming.

Kittens and a mom cat looking for a home!

PLEASE SHARE! So many babies needing homes😿

All ready at the same time and 3 more to post this week. We have a full house and desperately need good safe loving homes for these kittens before we can have the space to help more. We are getting multiple messages every day asking for help. So we need some really great networking from all our supporters to help us place these babies with forever homes!! WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💗💗

All of the kittens are between 9-11ish weeks old and have had so much hands on attention. So many sweet love bugs to choose from. It amazes me these guys are still here!! They all have unique personalities so come meet them and see who grabs your heart!! They are all spayed/neutered, have age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, FIV/felv tested negative, and microchipped and only $75 to adopt.

Free pet food available tomorrow for those in need!

Tomorrow is the 4th Saturday in May, so you know what that means......
We will be in Athens tomorrow morning bright and early handing out pet food and supplies to those in need.
Come along from 7am to 870 Gaines School Rd in Athens to see us, we will be right next to iServe Ministries who will be giving away food for families.
We are there to serve any and all in need with no judgement, no ID required and no forms to fill in.
Come see us tomorrow if you are having trouble feeding your pets and let us help you. We are eager to serve and honored to help.
