Race number 10 is in the books! We can’t thank everyone enough for making this year’s 10th Annual Second Chance 5K Run/Walk an incredible success by every measure!

We broke our previous records for:
- Number of Sponsors
- Sponsorship $ raised
- Number of race registrations
- Number of participants
- Total $ raised

Going into our 10th race, our goal was to finally break the $20,000 mark. Thanks to the amazing support from our sponsors, volunteers, attendees, community partners, etc… we were able to raise $22,500 for organ and tissue donation awareness initiatives right here in western Pennsylvania and around the country!

The work that these funds will allow us to do with community partners such as the Center for Organ Recovery & Education and SODA: Student Organ Donation Advocates - SODA National will directly save an improve lives by increasing the number of people registered to be organ and tissue donors. None of those efforts would be possible without all of your support and we are eternally grateful to all of you! 💙💚

We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Pswcs - Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society for choosing Second Chance Fundraising as the recipient of their 2026 Charity Medallion Fundraiser. We met with them Saturday at their summer social event where they presented us with a check for $7,085.

We had a great time with our friends at Center for Organ Recovery & Education and the Johnstown Mill Rats last night for our Donate Life Night! We were honored to celebrate the life of Gene Kelley, who saved and healed lives through donation when he passed away.

Please join us this Saturday night as we team up with our friends at the Center for Organ Recovery & Education and Johnstown Mill Rats for a special Donate Life celebration at the Millrats game versus the Champion City Half Trax. We will be honoring a local donator hero on the field before the game, with a special first pitch from the donor’s family. We’ll also have an awareness table and be raffling off a TV!

There are fireworks after the game so come out and join us for a great night celebrating the gift of life! 💙💚
