Valley Makers Association

Valley Makers Association The VMA is the Northern Shenandoah Valley’s only adult-focused, public nonprofit makerspace.

The VMA seeks to create and sustain an educational environment where community members can collaborate, innovate, and create using information, resources, and equipment in an attempt to foster creativity, art, and community involvement.

It is with a heavy heart that the Valley Makers Association Board has made the difficult decision to dissolve and permanently close our Maker Space after 10 years.

The last day the space will be open is May 31st. We kindly ask all members to remove their personal equipment and supplies from the shop by Friday, May 16th.

We’ve always tried to join together to help solve challenges for our members and our community. Whether to manufacturing over 10,000 masks during the early days of COVID, 3D printing assistive devices for folks with disabilities, or making Little Free Libraries for Literacy Volunteers, we are proud to have been a part of many local initiatives.

From our very first interest meeting at the BrightBox in 2014 to developing educationonal programming with the Handley Regional Library and hosting countless workshops and events, we’ve met so many incredible makers in the Northern Shenadoah Valley. We encourage each of you to keep on making and coming togethersr to solve all of our communities challenges, big or small.
