Today's email...
But when he came to his senses, he said, “How many of my father's hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.'” Luke 15:17-19
We have all heard the stirring story of the podigal son who squanders his inheritance and is reduced to scrounging for food only the pigs eat. But when he comes to his senses, he crawls back home and is welcomed and celebrated by his father.
This story fits in well with last Friday's email and is a clear picture of Spiritual Revival. When Believers in our country are tired of the muck and the poverty, and come to their senses and call out to God, then we will see God's mighty hand heal our nation.
Your prayers...Our prayers are so vital to the Spiritual Battle of bringing a Spiritual Awakening to our country!
But even more passionately, there are millions of “prodigal” Christians in our nation who have squandered their spiritual inheritance. You probably can name a few people that you know who have wandered away from following Jesus Christ. That is why in our BLU prayer we ask our Heavenly Father to restore those Believers because we love them and they are needed in the Body of Christ.
When Spiritual Revival comes, just imagine the excitement and joy of millions of “prodigals” coming home and being reconciled to their earthly families and their spiritual families. What a day that will be!!!
But the spiritual battle is great...and your regular, brief, proactive BLU prayers are greatly needed.
A Christian leader we know, committed su***de this week. We just never know for certain what is going on in the minds of every Believer. There is a spiritual battle being waged. Your BLU prayers for all Believers are greatly needed.
There will be victory if God's people will pray! The prodigals will come home, if more Christians will pray! May we see the day when we can say with the father of the prodigal son, “But we had to be merry and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.” Luke 15:32
