The Arthur Griffin Foundation for Wi******er was established by renowned New England photographer and Wi******er resident Arthur Griffin, who died in 2001. Griffin, a seventy-year Wi******er resident, achieved national recognition for capturing the spirit of traditional New England in his photographs. The Foundation is Arthur Griffin’s vision for a vehicle to support civic programs to benefit resi

dents of the town of Wi******er and to preserve and enhance the beauty of the Wi******er community. The Foundation is independent of the Arthur Griffin Museum of Photography and is recognized as a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

The Arthur Griffin Foundation's Board of Trustees is delighted to announce that Soren Meibom has joined the board!

Soren Meibom is a visual artist and a scientist (physics MS, astrophysicist Ph.D.). His lifelong pursuits of art and science have been fueled by a natural appetite for creativity and a deep and wide-ranging curiosity about the natural world. Soren finds artistic beauty in the language of science and his purposeful and thoughtful use of science in his artwork creates symbiosis and harmony that deepen and amplify the artistic expression, and makes it powerful and captivating. The Arthur Griffin Foundation's Board of Trustees is excited to announce that Andrea Zampitella has joined the board!

Andrea Zampitella attended the Massachusetts College of Art where she earned a MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education and Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM) and a minor in Small Metals.

Zampitella’s creative reach touches upon sculpture, performance, video, sound design and photography. In her interdisciplinary approach she creates platforms for artists to collaborate with each other. Zampitella has exhibited in galleries and public spaces around Boston including the Decordova Museum and Sculpture Park, The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, The Boston Children’s Museum, Axiom Gallery, Mobius Gallery and the Griffin Museum of Photography. Currently, she is a Library/Media Specialist at Wi******er High School. As an educator, Andrea promotes the cross-pollination of disciplines in her classroom encouraging students to invent and develop experimental art forms.
