As I was reading a post from a sister rescue in Florida last week, I realized that we are very much the same. As fall arrives and we prepare for the winter our need for funds to continue our spay/neuter, Trap-Neuter-Return and food assistance programs is still a great need. While both of us wish money would magically appear to cover our expenses, it just won't happen unless we reach out and ask.
Like myself, we both hate asking for money/donations. Life for Pets will be participating in the Blue Grass Good Giving Challenge for the eighth year in a row. Your donations through this online event help us continue to provide free spay and neuter vouchers, TNR vouchers, food and medical assistance when we are financially able to do so. On average our donors have helped us raise between $15,000 and $20,000 during the Good Giving Challenge. The funds have helped to s/n and TNR many owned and feral cats/dogs and to provide financial support via food and medical procedures over the years.
Later this month I will be taking 13 cats and kittens to a local TNR clinic to be fixed, vaccinated and ear tipped. The ear tip allows us to know if a cat has already been fixed. They will then be returned to their caretakers, who will continue to feed and look after them. As a majority of these cats are female, estimate is about 60 or more kittens who won't be added to the population, through the simple process of spaying the mom before she can get pregnant.
The Good Giving Challenge will only run for four days this year. We are told by the Bluegrass Community Foundation that they have may fun events planned for these four days that will help you, the donors raise more money for the participating non-profit organizations. The Clark County Bluegrass Foundation will continue to match all donations dollar for dollar, until eligible Clark County nonprofits have reached $7500 in donations.
Will you help Life for Pets "fix" the pets and feral cats of Clark County and the Bluegrass? Donations can be made from 9am November until 11:59 pm December 2, 2022. Our link is below.
