Today Leadership Adams Youth Academy April session was one for the books!

We kicked things off at the Adams County Training & Business Center with our monthly leadership training—setting the tone for a day focused on growth, curiosity, and real-world insight.

From there, we hit the road and got a behind-the-scenes look at some incredible local operations, including R&R Tool, Baxla Tractor Sales, and Raines Farms & Greenhouses.

One of the highlights of the day came at Raines Farms & Greenhouses, where one of our students, Elizabeth, stepped into the role of tour guide. She did an amazing job leading the group, sharing her knowledge, and representing both her family business and this program with confidence.

We wrapped up the day at Local Jacks—because no great learning experience is complete without good food and even better conversation.

Days like this are what Leadership Adams is all about: connecting young leaders to opportunities, ideas, and the people who make our region move.

Today was County Commerce Day II for the Class of 2026! As always, the day started with training at the Training and Business Center, followed by a presentation on the Adams County OH Chamber of Commerce by Randi McFarland-Franklin. We then hit the road to visit C103 Country, where Don Bowles and his staff did an excellent job introducing the class to the radio and communications industry. The class even got to write and record a couple ads. After a lunch at Snappy Tomato Pizza, and a visit with our sponsor for the day, David McFarland, we headed to Raines Farms.

Members of the Class of 2026 have been working on a project to assist the Adams County Homeless Shelter find funding to expand and serve more families with children. This week members met with representatives from Congressman Taylor's office and Senator Moreno's office to discuss grant possibilities.
