What does the Ravenwood Foundation do?

The Ravenwood Foundation is a nonprofit built around community, education, opportunity, and belonging, with a special focus on creating meaningful experiences for local youth.

Throughout the year, our Foundation works to:

🏕️ Provide educational and hands-on experiences through Ravenwood Youth Camp

🎨 Create Youth Initiative workshops and activities that encourage kids to learn, create, try something new, and build confidence

🤝 Give back through community outreach and service projects

🌱 Connect youth with local artists, educators, tradespeople, farmers, makers, and community members who are willing to share their skills

🏰 Bring our community together through the Ravenwood Faire, while using the Faire to help support the Foundation's year-round mission

❤️ Create a place where young people can feel included, encouraged, capable, and part of something bigger

Every volunteer, donation, sponsorship, Faire ticket, and person who shares our mission helps us continue building these opportunities.

The Faire may be what you know us for, but the Foundation is why we do it.

💛 A Quick Note About Our Youth Initiatives

We are so grateful for the amazing response we’ve received to our FREE Ravenwood Foundation Youth Initiatives!

Because many of our programs have limited space and often fill up quickly, we just have one small request:

If you register your child for an upcoming youth event and find that you’re no longer able to attend, please send us a quick message to let us know. No worries and no explanations needed! Life happens. 💛

Giving us a heads-up allows us to offer that spot to another child on our waitlist who would love the opportunity to participate.

These programs are something we’re incredibly proud to offer our community, and your help allows us to make the most of every available spot.

Sophie & Jill made a special delivery to Bright Futures Frederick/Wi******er this morning! 🎒💛

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Ravenwood Foundation was able to donate 24 backpacks along with a whole lot of school supplies, notebooks, pencils, binders, headphones, erasers, pencil boxes, pens, highlighters, and more!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped us fill these backpacks. We’re so grateful to be able to support local students as they head back to school. 📚✏️

It may seem like a backpack and some school supplies, but to a student starting a new school year, it can mean so much more. ❤️

🎨 Youth Paint Night was a success! 💙

A huge thank you to Jill at Typewriter Studio for putting together such an amazing watercolor workshop for our young artists!

The children spent the evening learning different watercolor techniques and then used what they learned to create their very own art pieces. 🖌️✨ We loved watching their creativity come to life!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make another Ravenwood Foundation Youth Initiative event so special.

🍎 The Ravenwood Foundation is organizing a Backpack Drive to support local children in Frederick County & Wi******er City who could use a little extra help starting the school year off strong. We’ll be collecting monetary and in-kind donations through July 31st.

If you had an extra $25, would you consider sponsoring a backpack filled with school supplies for a teen in need? ✏️📚🎒

Your donation goes directly toward the backpack and items like notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, erasers, earbuds, index cards, and more. We’re aiming to provide 50 full backpacks by the end if July, and every single one will make a difference.

We are excited to welcome youth artists of all ages to participate in the second annual Youth Art Show hosted by the Ravenwood Foundation.

This exhibition has been made possible through funding from the Bowman-Shannon Cultural Arts Fund.

Please complete this form in its entirety to indicate your child’s interest in participating in the exhibition. All submissions must be delivered to North Mountain Vineyard & Winery, home of Ravenwood Faire, no later than October 11, 2026.

Late submissions cannot be accepted. Vendors with children residing outside the region should contact us via email prior to submission.

Artwork will be displayed in a gallery exhibition for patrons of Ravenwood Faire throughout the 2026 Faire season. All student participants will receive complimentary admission for themselves and two guests on the first Friday of Faire, October 15, 2026, to view the gallery exhibition.

Youth artist workshops will be hosted by Ravenwood Foundation throughout the summer of 2026 for students who would like assistance developing their ideas and projects. Please visit our page or email us for additional information.
