The Wimberley Garden Club celebrated the power of community giving today, October 14, by presenting $4,800 in grants to four local organizations at our general meeting at the Wimberley Community Center!
We are delighted to support these wonderful projects that enrich our community through nature, education, conservation, and service.
Wimberley Village Library — $3,500 to help fund the new outdoor StoryWalk. Accepted by Beth Jordan.
Blue Hole Regional Park — $1,000 to fund seeding for the new Monarch Refuge Station. Accepted by Bryce Burkhalter, Natural Resources and Maintenance Manager, and Erica Flocke, Parks & Recreation Director.
EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens — $150 to support its annual Butterfly Festival. Accepted by Rebecca Stoian.
Jacob's Well Community Garden — $150 to support the Crisis Bread Basket garden beds. Accepted by Shiila Schafer and Christina Lewis of Soil & Soul Co.
These grants were made possible by the success of last year's Wimberley Garden Faire, the generosity of our community sponsors, and the dedicated leadership of Kathie Carlson and Laura Dalton, who helped make the event such a success.

Wimberley is now in the know about mushrooms!! Thank you so much to Central TX Mycological Society for presenting and bringing mushroom blocks to this packed house at the first meeting of the season for the Wimberley Garden Club. Using the spent commercial mushroom blocks reduces waste and replenishes the soil and can be used just about anywhere in the landscape. Plus when conditions are right, they grow more edible mushrooms, like oyster, lions mane, Chesnut, and more. Join us next month as we learn about the correct way and time to prune trees! Second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am at the Wimberley Community Center. First meeting free, $20 to join.

The Wimberley Garden Club’s 2026-27 season is starting September 9 at the Wimberley Community Center. The first meeting is free to attend, and membership is only $20 for the whole year!
We have planned a bunch of great programs and fun events to share with you all, and we would love to see new faces.
The Wimberley Garden Club is over 25 years old, a nonprofit that aims to not only educate ourselves, but also to raise funds to donate to other publicly available educational/beautification efforts.
From our fundraising efforts last year, we are able to contribute to the Wimberley Village Library’s new outdoor storybook walk, the seeding project at Blue Hole’s new Monarch Refuge Zone, the Emily Ann Garden’s Butterfly Festival, and the Jacobs Well Community Garden’s Crisis Bread Basket beds. Plus we will work as a club to seed wildflowers on the walking trails at Patsy Glenn Refuge and the Blue Hole walking trails.
We meet most months with an educational presenter on a different topic about gardening in our area using water wise and/or organic principles. Additionally we have one off-site “Make & Take” and one field trip each year, as well as a fun potluck holiday party and several opportunities to meet and help with our community bed at the Emily Ann Gardens.

Hays County Master Gardeners Outreach offers a wide variety of projects that teach our community about sound horticultural practices such as using native plants and capturing rainwater. “Success with succulents” will be a special feature at this event.

Hays County Master Naturalists are dedicated to the protection, sustainable use and management of natural resources in our area. They will have info about improving your Hays County acreage through the Habitat Enhancing Land Management (HELM) program.

The Herb Society of America, Hill Country Unit: These experts offer educational and personal experiences in herb cultivation, research, environmentally sensitive preservation, pollinator conservation, “beyond the garden” topics such as herbal wellness and DIY projects, and, of course, cooking!

Here's the first look at our new community event - a combo of fun & education, plants, music, and art!

The Wimberley Garden Club formally invites the community to participate in our Spring Garden Faire, Saturday, May 9 at Songland Farms. From 9a-2p, wander through this glorious property and learn sustainable ways to grow, water, and feed yourself, from amazing local resources.

We've got 12 exhibitors/speakers, 4 food/coffee vendors, 4 musicians, 5 artists, and more, including our annual native/adapted plant sale!

All for a really amazing ticket price of $20/each (kids under 12 free), which supports educational/beautification efforts around the Wimberley Valley.

It's a great way to spend the day with friends, family, and/or your MOM - come join us!
