🇺🇸 **Honoring Native American Veterans** 🪶

For more than 200 years, Native Americans have served in the U.S. military with distinction—often at rates far exceeding the national average.

From the Revolutionary War and Civil War to World Wars I and II, and through today, Native American service members have contributed courage, skill, and sacrifice to our nation’s military history.

🪖 **Did you know?**
• More than 12,000 Native Americans served in World War I.
• More than 44,000 served during World War II.
• Navajo, Comanche, Choctaw, and other Native Code Talkers used their languages to develop critical wartime communications.
• Native Americans have continued to serve in significant numbers since 9/11.
• The National Native American Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., honors generations of Indigenous veterans.

Today, we recognize the service and sacrifice of Native American veterans—past and present—and the many ways their contributions have shaped American military history.

**Different nations. One mission. A legacy of service.** 🇺🇸🪶

📚 **AUXILIARY 101: Let’s Talk About What We Do!**

Ever wondered **what a VFW Auxiliary actually does, how it works, or how it fits into the VFW family?** You’re not alone!

Over the next several Thursdays, we’re breaking down the basics in our new **Auxiliary 101** series. 🇺🇸

We’ll answer questions like:
🔹 What exactly does an Auxiliary do?
🔹 What is the relationship between the VFW Post and Auxiliary?
🔹 Why can’t an Auxiliary exist independently of a VFW Post?
🔹 How do our programs support veterans, service members, families, and communities?
🔹 What does membership really mean?

Whether you’re a **new member, longtime Auxiliary member, VFW member, or simply curious**, this series is designed to make the structure and purpose of the VFW Auxiliary easy to understand.

Think of it as a little **“Auxiliary 101” refresher**—because sometimes it’s good to go back to the basics! 🇺🇸

📖 **Join us every Thursday as we learn something new about YOUR Auxiliary!**
