Rangers Training Update
On Jan 21st, Ranger Tim Tempher led an Emergency Preparedness training at our monthly meeting. Several Rangers were in attendance as we continue strengthening readiness and response.
📅 Next meeting: Feb 18 — Victor Isarraraz will cover wound care, healing basics, and signs that require EMS.

On the evening of January 21st, members of the Wimberley Valley Rangers gathered for their monthly meeting, where Tim Tempher, a fellow Ranger, led a valuable training session focused on Emergency Preparedness.

Wimberley Valley Rangers Monthly Meeting Recap & Upcoming Events:

The Wimberley Valley Rangers held their monthly meeting last night at the Wimberley Village Library at 6:30 PM. It was a productive gathering where members discussed upcoming service opportunities and summer events in the community.

Next on the calendar, the Rangers will be participating in the Wimberley Village Library Summer Kick-Off on June 4th. This fun-filled event marks the start of summer programming, and the Rangers will be there with activities and resources for local youth.

Just a few days later, on June 7th, the Rangers will again be lending a hand to the Lions Club during Wimberley Market Days. Our team will assist with crowd support and event coordination as part of our ongoing commitment to community service.

Mark your calendars and come say hello—we’ll see you all there!

Wimberley Valley Rangers Teach Orienteering to Local Youth at Wimberley Library

On April 25th, the Wimberley Valley Rangers were proud to host an exciting orienteering class at the Wimberley Village Library. Around 15 eager youth, ranging from 1st through 5th grade, participated in the hands-on session.

Led by our dedicated volunteers, the class introduced the young adventurers to the fundamentals of orienteering, including how to read a compass, understand cardinal directions, and navigate using simple maps. The Rangers made sure every participant had a chance to apply their new skills in a fun and engaging way.

The event was part of our ongoing mission to inspire confidence, outdoor awareness, and lifelong skills in the next generation. We’re grateful to the Wimberley Library for hosting us and to all the families who brought their children out to learn and explore.

Wimberley Valley Rangers Teach Knot Tying at the Wimberley Library

The Wimberley Valley Rangers returned to the Wimberley Village Library for another hands-on learning experience — this time teaching knot tying to local youth. The class, held in late April, welcomed young participants from 1st through 5th grade who were eager to learn practical outdoor skills.

During the session, Rangers introduced the group to four essential knots: the square knot, bowline, clove hitch, and figure-eight. Each child had the opportunity to practice tying the knots with rope provided, while volunteers offered step-by-step guidance and fun facts about how each knot is used in real-life outdoor situations.

The Rangers are committed to equipping kids with valuable skills that promote confidence, teamwork, and a love of the outdoors. A big thank you to the Wimberley Village Library for hosting us and to the enthusiastic young learners who made the event such a success.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with the community and offering more engaging activities in the months ahead!

Wimberley Valley Rangers Support Wimberley Market Days with Roving Patrols

On April 5th, the Wimberley Valley Rangers proudly volunteered at Wimberley Market Days, partnering with the Wimberley Lions Club to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Our volunteers assisted by conducting roving patrols throughout the grounds, helping provide an extra set of eyes and ears to support the event's security and crowd safety efforts. Rangers remained visible and approachable, offering assistance to vendors, visitors, and staff as needed.

Market Days is one of Wimberley’s most beloved community events, and we were honored to contribute to its continued success. We're grateful to the Wimberley Lions Club for the opportunity to serve alongside them and to everyone who attended for making the day a positive one.

Stay connected with us for more ways the Rangers are serving and engaging with the Wimberley Valley community!

This photo is from 2 years ago at our Back-to-School Celebration. The extreme heat this year prevented us from hosting this outdoor portion after the Back-to-School Fiesta. When owner Allison of found out we weren’t having the event, she provided 500 gift certificates so every kid at the Back-to-School Fiesta could stop by and get a free snow cone!! Y’all! THAT is what Wimberley is all about. Next time you see Allison, please tell her THANK YOU for making a difference in our community and please support her small business. Just one example of the fantastic job our community does showing up for each other.
