6 PM Update - Aboslute gully washer/toad strangler right now in the Hill Country. Already 1-2" in the bucket in Mason and Llano counties. Similar totals can be expected across much of the Hill Country with flooding likely to develop in a few spots.

There have been a few storms warned at times for large hail and damaging wind gusts, but none are severe at the moment. Still haven't seen organized development of a squall line, but that's possible before these reach the I-35 corridor which will bring a bigger concern for straight-line wind gusts.

More updates to come, all according to plan thus far

Make sure you have a plan for tonight and how you can get weather information.

01/25/2026

WISD has continued to monitor and observe the winter weather conditions in our community through the weekend, while relying on information and guidance from Hays County Emergency Management and the Austin/San Antonio office of the National Weather Service (NWS). Relying on all the information available to us, it has been decided that WISD will NOT have school on Monday, January 26th due to the potential for unsafe travel conditions in our community.

Students and families should refer to normal team/activity communication channels to receive specific information.

The district will continue to evaluate conditions in conjunction with our local Emergency Management Services and the NWS throughout Monday to determine if any schedule modifications will be needed for Tuesday, January 27th. This information will be shared with our community by 5 p.m. on Monday via phone call, text, and email.
