The Wilton Food Pantry is taking steps to strengthen its ability to continue serving the community by transitioning to an independent non-profit organization. Since its founding in 2013, Sunne Lutheran Church has graciously served as the fiscal agent for The Pantry and has covered The Pantry in their insurance policy. Sunne members embraced The Pantry by regularly volunteering each month and by giving both food items and financial donations. This faithful commitment of time and energy spent serving the community for over a decade is recognized with immense gratitude. The Pantry is hopeful that this strong relationship will continue to grow in new ways through this transition period.
The Pantry is confident that the time is right to further its mission. Taking a leap of faith, The Wilton Food Pantry has formed its own Board of Directors, has been incorporated as a non-profit in the state of North Dakota, has its own checking account, and is working towards becoming a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The Pantry Board of Directors looks forward with confidence to this next chapter and Sunne Lutheran Church’s council shares in the excitement.
Please keep supporting The Pantry by praying, by volunteering, and by giving both food items and financial gifts.
Donations to The Pantry can continue to be given through Sunne Lutheran Church as a designated gift, either by check or online through the Vanco app. Donations can also be sent directly to The Pantry, with checks made payable to: The Wilton Food Pantry, PO Box 91, Wilton, ND 58579
Fourteen years of history shows that The Pantry serves a great need in the community but even more so, it has robust community support. The Pantry looks forward to continued community partnerships and the potential for increased ways to work together to serve the community.
