Two deadlines this week. Both on Friday. Let's make sure your team is in.

Spring Playoffs — Opt-In Due May 15

Pool Stage runs June 19-21. Championships are June 27-28 at Indian Meadows Park in Burnt Hills.

To opt in: log into baseball.cdelite.org, Desktop: "Update Availability" in the left sidebar. Mobile: Menu (top right) → Availability → My Teams → Postseason → YES.

All-Elite Game Ballot — Due May 15 (12U Head Coaches Only)

The inaugural All-Elite Game is August 1 at Cook Park in Colonie. The top 30 players in 12U, voted in by you. A 7-inning showcase game, a Home Run Derby, and uniforms on the house.

Every 12U head coach gets one ballot. Five nominations. Log in at baseball.cdelite.org, go to Dashboard → All-Elite Ballot in the left-hand menu. You need all five to submit.

Friday, May 15. Both deadlines. Don't be the coach who missed it.

💐⚾️ Mother's Day weekend is here. What did we get Mom? 130 games across 6 divisions!

Friday kicks things off at 8 PM at Keenholts Park, where the 12U Clifton Park Plainsmen (Green) (6-3) roll into Guilderland to face the Bulldogs (Red) (1-2). Clifton Park is hot and knows it. Guilderland is hungry and knows that too. Night game. Lights on. No warmup lap.

Also Friday: 10U Twin Town Warriors (Gold) head to the NCYBA Boght Complex to take on North Colonie Bison (Blue). North Colonie is 4-1 and playing at home. Twin Town is the kind of team that doesn't care about the records. they come to play ball.

Sunday is where it gets interesting.

The 12U North Colonie Bison (Blue) are 6-0 and will take on 2025 Ripken World Series participants. At 10 AM Sunday at Magee Park, Bethlehem Eagles (White) (3-2) will try to be the first team to hand them a loss. Unbeaten versus unbothered. That's the one to watch.

Also Sunday: 9U BHBL Spartans (5-0) host Halfmoon Mariners (Blue) at Indian Meadows Park. The Mariners look to hand the Spartans their first L of the season. They are up to the test!

87 more games across 9U, 10U, 11U, and Rookies fill out the Sunday slate.

🐎⚾️ The main track was fast and the turf course was firm on Derby Weekend for 88 games in the Capital District.

A few that stood out:

11U BHBL Spartans and Saratoga-Wilton Blue Sox (Blue) played two. BHBL won game one 6-4. Saratoga-Wilton came back and won game two 4-3. Series split, both teams earned it.

In 9U, Ballston Spa Scotties took game one over Saratoga Stars 6-2. Saratoga came back and won game two 10-9. One run.

10U North Colonie Bison (White) beat Twin Town Warriors (Blue) twice, but not the same way twice. Game one: 4-3. Game two: 18-16. Both counted the same in the standings.

12U RC Clippers (White) edged Clifton Park Plainsmen (Black) 10-9 to close out the day.

Clifton Park Baseball League walks in with the best road record on tonight's slate. Saratoga Wilton Youth Baseball has the home field, the lights, and a point to make. These two have combined for 10 decisions this season. Tonight is the most interesting one yet.

Five combined wins. Zero combined losses. That math changes tonight. The Spartans are one of the cleaner records in the division, but the Bison haven't dropped one yet and they're at home. Something has to give.

9U | Guilderland Bulldogs (Red) (1-2) @ North Colonie Bison (Blue) (1-2)

Two 9U teams with the talent and the record that don't match yet. Both sitting at 1-2 and both know it. That urgency tends to produce good baseball.

The scoreboard doesn't lie. Here's where everyone stands.

10U: Guilderland Bulldogs (Red) lead Class A at 4-0. North Colonie Bison (Blue) and North Colonie Bison (White) are both 3-0. Schenectady Blue Jays (White) sit at 4-1, one game back and watching. In Class C, Upstate Impact are 3-0, 43 runs scored, 7 allowed. They're not just winning, they're making a philosophical statement about pitching.

11U: RC Clippers and East Greenbush-Castleton Devils (Blue) are both 2-0 in Class A, yet to be touched. Hudson Falls Tigers 2-0 in Class B. Saugerties Dutchmen are 3-0. Three teams without a loss, all in the same division. Something has to give.

12U: North Colonie Bison (Blue) own Class A at 3-0. In Class B, the Saugerties Dutchmen are 3-0 and the Scotia-Glenville Mohawks (Crimson) are 2-0. In Class C, Twin City Wolfpack are 6-0, and South Glens Falls Bulldogs (Red) opened 2-0 in their debut weekend with 29 runs in two games.

128 games played this weekend across all six divisions. A lot happened. Here's what to know.

12U North Colonie Bison (Blue) are 3-0. They won Friday 5-2 over Guilderland, then held off Saratoga-Wilton Blue Sox (Blue) 6-5 Sunday. Both wins were tight!

12U Twin City Wolfpack are 6-0. 70 runs scored, 19 allowed. That's not a typo. What a start the Wolfpack is off to 🤘!

12U South Glens Falls Bulldogs (Red) opened with two wins. 16-0 and 13-6. Twenty-nine runs in a debut weekend. Worth watching.

In 11U, the East Greenbush-Castleton Devils (Blue) shut out the Niskayuna Warriors (Red) 11-0 on Sunday. EGC Blue is 2-0. The RC Clippers are also 2-0 after beating Saratoga-Wilton Blue Sox (Blue) 2-1 in a one-run game. After the game Coach Lawrence told me it was "The best youth baseball game I've ever been a part of. I would have enjoyed it just as much even if we were on the short end."

Friday Night Results

Twenty-five games across the Capital Region Friday. The short version:

12U: Clifton Park Plainsmen (White) beat Saratoga-Wilton Blue Sox (White), 7-6. One run. One of three one-run games on the night.

11U: North Colonie Bison (White) and Halfmoon Mariners (Gray) combined for 35 runs. North Colonie came away with a 20-15 win. Both benches needed a minute after that one.

10U: Twin Town Warriors (Gold) went to Blatnick Park and beat Niskayuna Warriors (Red), 11-10. Road win, one run.
