🐾❤️ WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY IN GALT, CALIFORNIA! ❤️🐾

Today, Wilton Animal Rescue had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate with our friends at the Kiwanis Dog Park in Galt, California! 🐶☀️

What an amazing day filled with wagging tails, happy faces, laughter, and so much love!

Our dogs were absolutely spoiled by all the wonderful children who came out to spend time with them. There is something incredibly special about watching children interact with rescue dogs, showering them with affection, giving them attention, and reminding them just how wonderful people can be. ❤️

For many of our rescue dogs, these experiences mean more than people realize. Every gentle touch, every kind word, and every moment of positive interaction helps them build confidence, learn to trust, and become better prepared for their future forever homes.

And for the children, these moments teach something equally important — compassion, kindness, and respect for animals. These are lessons that can last a lifetime.

We want to extend a HUGE thank-you to everyone involved with the Kiwanis Dog Park celebration for continuing to include Wilton Animal Rescue year after year.

Your kindness, generosity, and commitment to bringing the community together mean the world to us. Being invited back each year is truly an honor, and we look forward to this wonderful event every time!

We also want to thank all the families, children, volunteers, and community members who stopped by to visit our dogs, share a little love, and support our rescue.

❤️ Events like this remind us why we do what we do. Rescue isn’t just about saving dogs. It’s about bringing people together, teaching compassion to the next generation, and building a community that cares about animals.

❤️🐾 ANOTHER PRECIOUS LIFE SAVED! 🐾❤️

After many sleepless nights of worrying about this sweet little girl, we can finally say SHE IS SAFE! ❤️

She is back with Wilton Animal Rescue, and tomorrow she will be going into the shelter to begin the next chapter of her journey.

This little girl needs to be spayed, and we hope she will be given the time, patience, and training she needs to build her confidence and learn to trust again.

💔 Fearful dogs are not bad dogs. They are frightened dogs who need someone willing to give them a chance.

They don’t understand that we’re trying to save them. They only know that the world has been a scary place, and trusting humans doesn’t always come easily.

Our hope is that with kindness, proper training, and a little patience, this beautiful girl will eventually find a loving forever home where she will never have to be afraid again.

Tonight, we are grateful she’s safe. Tomorrow, her healing journey begins.

This is something my brothers did after my mom passed away. They decided I should take the dog which I did out of respect for my mom and for the love of animals. Was he perfect; Heck no; he liked to bite me, but in the end we became friends. I kind of miss that dog. RIP little Buddy! Remember when you adopt an animal, it should be for life.

🐾❤️ A CHILD’S SMALL ACT OF KINDNESS CAN CHANGE AN ANIMAL’S ENTIRE FUTURE. ❤️🐾

A handmade blanket.

A bag of treats.

A few dollars from an allowance.

A lemonade stand.

To a child, these may seem small. To a rescue dog, they can mean comfort, care, and hope.

At Wilton Animal Rescue, children reach out to start school projects, collect donations, organize fundraisers, and create special gifts for our dogs.

No act of kindness is ever too small. ❤️

What matters most isn’t how much they give. It’s the compassion behind every effort and the desire to make a difference.

After witnessing neglect, abandonment, and cruelty, these children remind us that goodness still exists.

They restore our faith in humanity.

They give us hope.

And they show us that the future of animal welfare can be brighter.

Today’s compassionate children may become tomorrow’s:

🐾❤️ AN IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS! ❤️🐾

PLEASE TEACH YOUR CHILDREN TO RESPECT A DOG’S PERSONAL SPACE!

Never allow children to put their faces directly in a dog’s face. Don’t let them climb on dogs, crawl over them, pull their ears or tails, sit on them, or treat them like toys.

Even the most loving family dog can bite when frightened, hurt, or overwhelmed.

🐾 Dogs are not playground equipment.

🐾 A dog should never have to tolerate a child climbing or crawling on it.

🐾 Never allow children to hug, kiss, or put their faces against a dog’s face.

🐾 Teach children to leave dogs alone when they’re eating, sleeping, or resting.

🐾 Never leave young children unsupervised with any dog, regardless of how gentle that dog may be.

🐾 Teach children that growling, freezing, turning away, or trying to leave means the dog needs space.

A dog bite to a child’s face can result in permanent scarring, serious injuries, and lifelong trauma.

After years of rescuing and working with dogs, I cannot stress this enough: Most of these dangerous situations can be prevented through education and responsible adult supervision.

What some parents think is adorable can become a tragedy in seconds.

And sadly, when something goes wrong, it’s often the dog that pays the ultimate price.

PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN. RESPECT YOUR DOGS. PREVENT THE BITE.

I’m not sure why this isn’t common sense, but if sharing this message prevents even one child from being injured, it’s worth repeating.

🐾❤️ IT TAKES A VILLAGE — AND WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR OURS! ❤️🐾

Today was another wonderful Thursday at Wilton Animal Rescue, thanks to some very special young people from the Elk Grove Unified School District! 🐶❤️

Every Thursday, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., these amazing students come to our rescue to spend time with our dogs, learning how to safely and confidently handle them while giving our puppies much-needed attention, exercise, and socialization.

Today, our puppies worked on learning how to SIT and understanding the word “OFF” to discourage jumping on people. These may seem like small accomplishments, but they are important steps in preparing our puppies to become well-mannered family companions.

We cannot say enough about how much we appreciate these students and the people who make this weekly program possible. Not only are the puppies learning valuable skills, but the students are gaining hands-on experience in patience, responsibility, compassion, and animal care.

Update on the shepherd. 
Update since last night dhe was at our place multiple times and she has also been by the very large Trap. She’s getting hungry so she should go in soon.  Please do not feed and she will go in and get the help she needs.

She is in a safe place under some brush. We have a trap nearby and can watch her with our cameras. We want to remind everybody if you see us out working near a trap or you see the dog just keep driving. The dog is watching everything we all do, and if a lot of people start stopping for her or in that area; she will move on.

We do appreciate the updates on where she’s at. Currently she’s is on Walmart and colony Road in a backyard drinking water out of a pool, but she will return as soon as we leave.
