King’s Garden is already producing! 🌱

Even in February, our residents were able to harvest fresh vegetables including green onions, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. Now, thanks to the hard work of our youth, spring and summer plants are growing strong under the grow lights. Before long, we’ll be enjoying fresh summer vegetables and fruits straight from the garden! 🌿🍅

At King’s Home Garden, the garden is more than just a place to grow food—it’s a place where youth learn responsibility, patience, and the joy of nurturing something from seed to harvest. 🌞

We are so very thankful for Mr. Mike Brunson for coming out and spending time with our group! He gave such a hands-on and engaging session teaching about how to properly care for dogs, explaining how a hunting dog tracks and hunts quail (which we got to see demonstrated!), and sharing all about tree stands and outdoor safety.

It was a great day of learning, fresh air, and time spent outdoors. We are grateful for community members like Mr. Brunson who are willing to invest their time and knowledge into our kids! 🐾

A big thank-you to our volunteer, Ward, who purchased and hung a beautiful new sign at the Education Building at King’s Home Garden!
Every detail here reflects our heart—to teach youth life skills they can carry with them for a lifetime. God has given each of us unique gifts, and through King’s Garden, we’re helping nurture, grow, and bring those gifts to life. 💚

🎄✨ Christmas at King’s Home: A Season of Giving ✨🎄

This week, King's Garden held the first of two Christmas sessions we’ll be having with all our homes this month—and this one was all about giving. 💛

During the session, we talked with our youth about generosity, the meaning of the season, and the incredible gift of Jesus. Afterwards, they rolled up their sleeves and created their own gifts to give to others—teachers, family, staff, and friends.

They hand-crafted each item, assembled their own gift boxes, and even used laser engraving to personalize two special keepsakes inside every wrapped present. 🎁✨

All of our youth will be making these gifts throughout December, and some of our staff may receive one. Just know: they were so proud of what they created. Watching their joy and excitement was truly something special. ❤️

We’re grateful for a season that reminds us that giving brings hope—and that our youth have so much love to share.

🎃🎃Pumpkin Carving Fun with the boys!

This crew got into the fall spirit with a pumpkin carving session — tools, teamwork, and tons of laughter included! They did an amazing job and had an absolute blast creating their spooky (and silly!) masterpieces.

We have been buzzing about this ALL week!!! 🐝💛

This week was all about the buzz! 🐝 .garden taught our youth all about the incredible world of bees—how they work, why they matter, and how we can protect them. Then they all suited up in real bee suits and got up close with an active hive! 👀🍯

The youth LOVED it, and so did we. What a great week! 🌼

TreeWorks in Birmingham, a tree removal service, instructed our youth about the trade of professional tree removal. Our youth learned how to safely remove the trees from start to finish and assisted with the whole process!!
The boys learned so much and had a blast 🌳🌳🪓
