ONLINE SURVEY TO SELECT BRIDGE DESIGN UNDERWAY
The French Prairie Bike-Ped-Emergency Bridge online survey is now live and will continue through May 5. Interested community members are invited to learn more about the two bridge designs under consideration, view photo realistic images of the proposed bridges, and participate in a short online survey in helping to select the preferred bridge type for the French Prairie crossing.

NEXT STEPS

Information gathered from the online survey will be shared with the project Task Force, Wilsonville City Council, and Clackamas Board of County Commissioners in consideration of the preferred bridge design.

The next Task Force meeting is anticipated for the end of May, with the City Council and County Commission meetings following in June, where a decision on the preferred bridge design is expected. Be on the look out for more information on the meeting schedule and opportunities to participate in the bridge design selection.

Wayfinding system for Wilsonville, needs your input

The City of Wilsonville has identified the need to develop an effective wayfinding system for bicyclists in Wilsonville. The goal of this wayfinding system is to make Wilsonville’s network of bicycle infrastructure more accessible to all users by providing concise directive signage.

Before designing the wayfinding system, it is important to obtain input from you, the community, about what destinations are most important and should be included in the directive signage. Please take a few minutes to fill out the following survey so that we can design a wayfinding system that best meets the needs of the community.

Help the City of Wilsonville develop an effective wayfinding system. Take this short survey.

Wilsonville City council last night passed the resolution authorizing the IGA with ODOT for planning and preliminary design of the French Prairie Bridge.

Despite rhetoric about building a vehicle bridge instead and wishes to use the money on other projects from 2 councilors, the vote was 5-0.

The 30% design document produced by the design work will describe the type, size and location of the bridge to be built, describe the environmental impact and right of way required, and a detailed cost estimate allowing grant applications. There will be public involvement in this process including a task force.

Here are the alternatives offered in the staff report for tomorrow's City Council meeting where they will consider an IGA with ODOT for advancing the bridge.

ALTERNATIVES:
1. Approve the IGA in its current form. Recommended.
2. Deny the IGA and return the Federal grant funding. This is not recommended and could result in the loss of substantial political capital at the regional level.

Folks could testify to the council during public comment near the start of the meeting, which starts at 7pm Monday 1st Dec at Wilsonville City Hall.

On Mon, Dec 1, Wilsonville City Council will consider matters pertaining to signing an Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) with ODOT to commence the study, engineering design and public outreach efforts for advancing the French Prairie Bridge.

The matter is to be considered at:

· 5 PM Work Session – Staff review of the proposed IGA; No public comment.
· 7 PM Meeting – Approval of the IGA is scheduled under New Business, for which there is No public hearing. However, comment on the matter is welcome at the start of the meeting under “Citizen Input.”

Here's a brief extract from the staff report:

"Upon completion of the work, the French Prairie Bridge location, alignment, and bridge type will be finalized. Project deliverables will include preliminary (30%) construction and environmental documents. This preliminary construction document stage is a key milestone in the project, as the project will be considered “construction ready” and will be in a more favorable position to receive additional federal funding to complete design and construction. Also, obtaining preliminary construction documents will allow the City to start strategizing final design, ownership, and maintenance with potential bridge partners"
