Embrace Compassion

Embrace Compassion We encourage and give hope to children in hard places - working as a team to make life just a little bit brighter. Everyone can make a difference!

Embrace Compassion was established in 2010 and is a grassroots organization partnering with a beautiful rural village in Ethiopia to encourage family preservation, education, and share humanitarian relief. Our Bright Spot sponsorship program encourages children to stay in school and provides supplies like shoes, uniforms, school notebooks and hygiene materials. We also volunteer in the same area a

t the local hospital bringing helpful supplies and spending time in the pediatric unit. After the founder's son was diagnosed with childhood cancer in 2020, the team at Embrace Compassion expanded its programming to include making life a little bit brighter for cancer kids. Embrace Compassion currently provides programming at a farm in Sherwood, Oregon where cancer kids and their siblings can safely play and just be a kid. Each month we offer a themed "Brighter Box" filled with farm goodness to continue the farm experience at home. We love children and partner with the families to share hope and encouragement, one child and one family at a time. We believe everyone can make a difference! Embrace Compassion is a 501c3 and all gifts are tax deductible. Partnering with Embrace Compassion truly makes the life of a child brighter. Sign up today to sponsor a child in rural Ethiopia or to provide programming at the farm for kids with cancer! One-time gifts also make what we do possible!

Winter at the farm has been WONDERFUL! The sunshine just keeps coming. We have been pruning the grapes and making wreaths, building a greenhouse, making gifts for the Sherwood Saturday market, using tallow for candles and body lotion, and trying new things. Volunteers make our days bright and help get it done!

It’s been an incredible year for Embrace Compassion and the farm. We are grateful for our families in cancer treatment who share their journeys with us, for the many volunteers who continue to share of their best selves and for the fertile little farm that shares so many gifts with all of us. Have a very Merry Christmas and a special holiday with those you love. 💕

Farm Season 2025 has closed out with so much beauty! Our last farm event, a Holiday party like no other, hosted 15 families touched by pediatric cancer and a BUNCH of extraordinary volunteers. 4 gallons of homemade chili and jasmine rice, a barn full of presents being shared with those loved by the children in treatment and their siblings, so many rolls of Christmas paper, a barbershop quartet, thousands of Christmas lights, a world class puzzler, professional art and so much more. The best part??? Community and friendship. for the win!

Sweet, tender hearted Elias, and his beautiful family. This journey through pediatric cancer has allowed us to meet some of the most wonderful families. It’s heart breaking to share the sadness that comes from watching your child suffer and fight to stay alive.

Elias will be greatly missed and never forgotten. His life will forever shine in our hearts.

So much love to you Erica Garcia, Paul and Lazarus. ❤️
