Zebulon Historic Home Tours April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To avoid online processing service fees, you may instead mail a check to: Preservation Zebulon, 214 E. Horton St., Zebulon, NC 27597. For questions or issues with your ticket purchase, call: 919-741-2317.
Tour tickets are $30 each, or a group block of 8 tickets for $200. The education event at Zebulon Town Hall is free to the public.
Experience North Carolina small-town charm right in the middle of Downtown Zebulon, NC, where the arrival of the railroad in the early 20th century transformed two farms into “The Town of Friendly People.” The Zebulon Historic District contains 316 contributing structures throughout 166 acres and includes homes that date from the early 1900s to the 1970s. Efforts continue to preserve the Victorian, Queen Anne, and Craftsman architectural styles of these homes from a century ago and serve as a prelude to the beauty and attention to detail given to their unique interiors.
Your opportunity to tour the interior of some of these homes happens again this April 12, 2025 during the Zebulon Historic Homes Tour. Homes are staffed with docents to enlighten you on the rich history of each property. Attendees must pick up their registration packets, which include a map of tour sites, at the Zebulon Town Hall. Tour the properties at your own pace in any order.
In addition, we offer a stop to give you a glimpse of education before 1970 at the Zebulon Town Hall site. Friends of Wakelon and Friends of Shepard School Road will both share displays about the history of education before desegregation at the Zebulon Town Hall, which is on the National Register of Historic Places and was the site of Wakelon school from 1909 - 1970. This stop is free to the public.

Zebulon is a short drive from Raleigh, Wake Forest, Rocky Mount, Wilson, or Selma.

Wondering what is going on at the old gas station at 217 Raleigh Rd? They are opening a restauarant or bar or combination (unkown) called The Cavalier. I am not sure what their full plans are but I do know its name so far. I find it funny as this is not the Cavalier neighborhood. It is the Broad- Kenan neighborhood with that specific area being called Residence Park.
