These are a little late, But to celebrate Earth Day we went hiking at Piers Gorge, in Norway. It was a great way to kick off spring, we were just shy of a 2 1/2 mile hike, the girls got to see 2 soaring Turkey Vultures, a Yellow Tailed Wood Pe**er, got to learn about the birds we saw (Ava brought her bird book, skipped rocks, picked up garbage along the way and got to learn a little bit about the gorge. Afterwards we celebrate with Ice Cream from Dairy Queen ❤️

UPDATE: Marinette County plows are back out working to clear the county roads and highways. Please remain off the roads as much as possible to give them room to work to clear the snow at this time.

****

We have been advised that the highway crews are pulling the plow trucks off the roads at this time because of conditions. That being the case, we may be unable to reach you for some time if you become stuck on the roadways, so please refrain from travel until the storm passes and they can safely plow the roadways. We do have two of our officers on snowmobiles that will respond to emergent calls only as they can. All other calls will remain holding until the roads can be cleared.

So my middle of the night run on an unplowed back road wondering how in the world I was going to get backed down the same set of tracks I followed to get there, trudging the 10 to 12 inches of snow by foot from the car to the garage back to the car parked on the road in the middle of the night in the cold and in the dark carrying 3 cases of cookies at a time was worth it LOL! This will be by far be my most memorable cookie booth that I have ever had to prep for and every moment of it was worth it and we had an AMAZING cookie booth on Saturday!

There are very few times where we have the opportunity to take photos at a Cookie Booth just because we are so busy (from the time we open our trunks)! There are certain times where we make it work and this is one of those booths where we did just that. It made the girls day when Escanaba Public Safety stopped by to see the girls and Rosie the Girl Scout bunny!

There is a long story behind the Bunny costumes so I will try to make it short. When Roger was alive his plan was to come with the our troop to the local nursing homes dressed as something for every holiday and for the month of April he was going to dress as a bunny. When things went south with is health after a secondary hip replacement, he asked Mila to carry on his wishes and put the suit to use with the troop and that is exactly what we did. Mila decided to name her Rosie the Girl Scout Bunny and we brought her out at our Booth. Mila brought so many smiles to so many children and adults yesterday in that costume, I know for a fact she made her Uncle Roger Very Proud! and we will be utilizing Troop 5149's Rosie the Girl Scout Bunny many more times in the future!

I want to give a big shout out to everyone who supported us at our booth yesterday, the girls that stuck it out start to finish and all of the parents that stayed and helped with the booth. Without amazing people like you our Troop would not be able to do the amazing things we do!

Normally I am on top of my game however with a series of unfortunate events I have not been and I apologize for that. Our door to door sales have been done for a bit but I would like to congratulate our Troops top 3 cookie sellers:
Mila at 610 packages
Harmony at 574 packages
and Ava at a total of 356 packages

I want to thank each and every one of my girls that sold cookies during door to door sales so much for your participation.

I cannot wait for booths to start, our next meeting will be this Friday at the Bark River School. We are going to do our World Thinking Day Badge however we are going to do it for our local Historical Society due to be needing to be out of town next week for a funeral.

Thank you to all of my parents that assisted your children with cookie sales so far and keep your calendars open because March is going to be a busy month LOL. The tentative cookie delivery date is March 5th and our first booth is the 6th and we have another on the 7th all day at Walmart.
