🌾 In 2008, The Wilderness Center opened the first nature preserve cemetery in Ohio, Foxfield Preserve. Foxfield remains as one of a handful of conservation cemeteries in the country today.

🌾 We invite you to experience the quiet peace of our cemetery this fall. Whether you are visiting a loved one’s site, walking the trails, or pausing to birdwatch, Foxfield Preserve offers a unique space for reflection and connection.

🌾 Thank you for being part of the living memorial that is Foxfield. Your support helps protect this land, ensuring it remains a sanctuary for both the wild and the grieving for generations to come. Foxfield’s trails connect to the TWC system and are open sunrise to sunset.

🌾 Interested in volunteering? Volunteer opportunities include helping with trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and day-of-burial tasks such as site prep/decoration and closing a grave by hand. To learn more, please call 330-359-5235.

🌾 You may know our conservation cemetery because of its beautiful prairie and forest trails many people enjoy during the day.

🌾 Join us for a night hike with Wilderness Center naturalists next Friday, August 21st from 8:30-9:30 pm as we explore the cemetery in a different light. You will learn about how a conservation cemetery functions as important habitat and experience nature at nighttime.

Due to current air quality concerns, the potential for thunderstorms, and continued high heat, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday's public guided tour of Foxfield Preserve.

The health, safety, and comfort of our visitors will always come first, and we appreciate your understanding.

🌾 Can’t make our next guided tour but want to learn more about Foxfield Preserve?

🌾 You’ll find us at the Kent Free Library next Wednesday, July 15th from 11 am-12 pm. You’ll learn how natural burial preserves green space and supports local ecosystems, and how it provides an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional burial practices.
