What an amazing experience we had at Camp Soar's Golf Camp this week!

A huge THANK YOU to Team Harris — Ross, Carmen, and Lamarco Harris for bringing energy, encouragement, and inspiration to our campers over two unforgettable days. 💙

We’re especially proud of Noah Martinez, who was named Most Engaged Camper! 🎖️ Noah’s focus, curiosity, and enthusiasm truly stood out. As a reward, he received his very own golf club set, a putting green, and a chipping target set to help him practice and develop his skills. ⛳️🏌🏾‍♂️

Special thanks to Ross Harris for teaching our youth the fundamentals and techniques of golf, and for your personal time mentoring Noah; it made a powerful impact. 🙌🏽

Thank you to Authors Ross and Carmen Harris for sharing your inspiring book, Harris Hawk and the Golden Golf Ball, and leading a meaningful book discussion and signing. Your story encouraged our campers to believe in their voices and dream of writing and publishing their own books someday. 📚✨

And a heartfelt thank you to Lamarco Harris for helping each camper recognize the power in their name, and for teaching them to speak with confidence and pride. Your message about how trying new things can lead to new experiences and opportunities will stay with them long after camp ends. 💬🔑

🚁 Camp Soar - Drone Camp Days 1 & 2 Recap! 🚁
The first week of Camp Soar was a soaring success! 🙌

Our campers had an amazing time diving into the world of drone technology and careers with instructor Sean Clark. On Monday and Tuesday, students learned about real-world drone applications, assembled and reassembled drones, and even practiced flying them! ✈️💡

Huge THANK YOU to Sean Clark for introducing our campers to the exciting world of drones and showing them how high their futures can fly! 🌟

Heart2Heart Connections Receives $15,000 Grant from Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation to Launch Camp Soar: STEM, Stories & Swings
Wilmot, AR — Heart2Heart Connections is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation to support Camp Soar: STEM, Stories & Swings, a dynamic summer enrichment camp for youth in Wilmot, Arkansas. The program will run from June 30 to July 11, 2025, at the Wilmot Community Center (2764 Highway 165 S).
Camp Soar is a two-week summer camp designed to serve youth ages 8–16, providing a safe, engaging, and educational environment during the critical summer months. The camp features three core focus areas:
• STEM Exploration with Drones
• Literacy Development through the Write Path Curriculum
• Golf & Character-Building Activities
This award from the Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation will fully fund the camp’s operations, including staffing, educational materials, meals, transportation, and program equipment, allowing Heart2Heart Connections to offer the experience at no cost to families.
“We are incredibly grateful for the King Foundation’s investment in our youth,” said Carolyn Harris, Executive Director of Heart2Heart Connections. “Camp Soar is more than just summer fun it’s about building skills, confidence, and future opportunities for children in our rural community.”
Camp Soar aims to reach 25-35 youth participants and is part of Heart2Heart Connections’ ongoing mission to provide equitable access to education, mentorship, and personal growth for underserved families in Ashley County.
