We are once again asking for your help. We need snack donations and now it’s even easier to donate. You should be able to follow the link below, choose some of our pre-selected, most loved snack items and ship directly to the clinic. Some of these items are even available for subscribe and save if you would like to set it up so that Amazon automatically continues to ship your donation once a month. Please know that no contribution is too small and we are so appreciative whether you donate one time or regularly.

We know COVID-19 has everyone’s attention right now but kids are still being diagnosed with cancer every single day and families are still fighting for their children’s lives. We have enjoyed the flow of Amazon snacks this month that so many of you are sending in. We want to thank those of you who have contributed. The kids at the clinic are wallowing in a well stocked pantry!!🙌🏼🙌🏼. If you would like to help keep our snacks stocked, you can order from our wishlist below and have your donation shipped directly to the DanceBlue Hematology Oncology Clinic at UK. It should pop up as an option as you check out. You can even subscribe and save and have your order auto shipped each month to help Gavin’s Goodies supply snacks for children receiving treatment for cancer and blood disorders. WE NEED SNACKS!

The pandemic has been difficult for all of us and has created challenges for everyone across the board in various ways. Gavin’s Goodies is no exception. Because sports teams have been disrupted, schools have not been meeting, churches and youth groups have been unable to meet in person as they normally would and people are working from home, those who would normally come together to do a snack drive for us have just not been in a position to do so.

We have been able to provide snacks to the clinic so far and we desperately hope to continue to do that but we can’t do it without your help. If your group would like to do a snack drive or take up a donation for Gavin’s Goodies, we would appreciate your help in providing snacks to children undergoing cancer treatment in Kentucky.

Our mission hasn’t changed. While the world around us may be unrecognizable, children in Kentucky fighting cancer are still fighting. Gavin’s Goodies still strives to help make life just a little more normal for them during even these anything but normal days. The snacks we (you) provide are given to kids while they are forced to sit patiently for sometimes as long as 10 hours receiving treatment that will make them violently ill for days after. They are given to kids who are waking up from procedures that they have had to fast for beforehand. These snacks are used sometimes to console kids who have been poked and prodded, are frightened and upset and sometimes even as bribes to allow for something unpleasant to be done to them. As we all sit at home, this world continues because cancer doesn’t stop and neither will we. Will you please join with us?

As schools, churches and sports have come to a halt, so has our steady stream of donated snack goods. I would like to thank those of you recently who have taken to Amazon to privately purchase snacks to send our way. We now have enough snacks to cover us for the next few weeks. However, we don’t have any large drives in the works for the future. If you would like to make a donation, either in snacks, or a monetary donation, any help in any size at this time would be much appreciated. Snacks must be shelf stable, individually wrapped and within the expiration date. Popular items are cookies, crackers (cheese, peanut butter, animal etc), pretzels, granola bars, pop tarts, cereal bars, popcorn, chips, trail mix, fruit snacks, etc.

Shout out to EMSCO/O.P. Aquatics!!! Their staff did a snack collection for us and while the world closed, they still managed to send us 5 big boxes of goodies!!!

Since Gavin’s Goodies was founded in 2009, we have experienced an ebb and flow of donations. I doubt a year has gone by that we haven’t found our stock room completely wiped out at some point but there has always been the security that comes from knowing that collections were being taken up by sports teams, school groups, churches, youth groups, offices etc and that individuals and businesses alike were making monetary donations or collecting for our cause. This is the longest our stock room has ever been empty. The 5 boxes we received yesterday didn’t go into the stock room, they went directly to the clinic for use. There are currently no fundraisers or collections in the works to our knowledge. This is a very difficult time for everyone. We don’t want to put any additional burden on families or businesses already stressed by current circumstances. However, we would ask that you remember the kid’s fighting cancer in Kentucky when the world is functional again, and your group is looking for a philanthropy project.
