We are proud to be a part of Ralph's story!

After 30 years in construction, Ralph McKinley knew he wanted to keep building his future in an industry he loves.

Ralph connected with StepUp Wilmington through LINC, Inc. and learned about CFCC’s construction programs during StepUp’s Jobs Week. He enrolled in CFCC’s free Construction Bootcamp, then took the next step into the Heavy Equipment Operator course, which he’s currently completing. He plans to continue with CFCC’s General Contracting course.

For Ralph, continuing his education also meant learning something about himself.

“I learned to stop denying people’s help. There’s a lot of help in the world. Good people do exist."
