Heart Set visits the ✨BRAND NEW✨ Pender County Health and Human Services Building!

Today, I had the opportunity to share Heart Set with members of the Pender County community through hands-only CPR demonstrations and AED education.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was expanding this mission into the Hispanic/Latinx community with inclusive materials in both English and Spanish.

So many people I spoke with were parents who simply wanted to be prepared if someone they love ever needed help. I even had the chance to help an officer practice who felt like he needed a refresher! That is exactly why Heart Set exists!!…to make lifesaving education accessible, approachable, and available to everyone!

Thank you, Pender County, for welcoming Heart Set and helping create a more heart-ready community. ❤️

A great morning celebrating schools that are helping build a heart-healthy generation! ❤️

Through the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge, elementary and middle school students learn the importance of heart-healthy habits, physical activity, community service, and even early hands-only CPR skills—lessons that can save lives.

Congratulations to Masonboro Elementary School for being recognized as the Top Lifesaving School in New Hanover County, and to Cape Fear Academy for earning a Heart of Gold achievement!

Thank you to Michelle Fisher, Director of School Engagement for the American Heart Association, for inviting me to join you today and share the mission of Heart Set with educational leaders across the county. As someone who believes every student should have access to CPR education, AEDs, and the confidence to respond in an emergency, it was so inspiring to see schools putting those values into action. ❤️

Bits and pieces of a full day in the life as Miss Wilmington ❤️

Kicking off National CPR and AED Awareness Week with visits to New Hanover County schools, preparing for CPR demonstrations, fulfilling Miss Wilmington duties, and continuing Miss North Carolina prep.

A busy day, but the best kind! I am so thankful to be able to use my voice, my platform, and every opportunity to grow and help others people feel HEART SET!

From Instagram: Today, we pause before we celebrate.
Memorial Day is a reminder that the freedoms we sing about and celebrate were not freely given. We would not be preparing to celebrate 250 years of America without the brave men and women who sacrificed everything—their very lives for this country.
It was an honor to perform “God Bless America” at Historic Stratford Hall in Virginia as part of America’s 250th celebration. Standing in a place so rich with history made the message of this song even more meaningful.
May we never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and may God continue to bless America. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Walking through with a HEART SET on turning advocacy into action. ❤️

Proud to have lobbied for the Smart Heart Act S278 and implementation of Telecommunicator CPR in North Carolina to our legislators. These actions, if approved, will save lives across the state, especially in our schools. This is something I have been working towards for many years and I hope we can join other states across our nation in passing these into law.

Thank you to all of the representatives, senators, and offices who listened to the stories on our hearts!

Three years ago, she arrived in the U.S. after fleeing Afghanistan. Today, she stood beside me at the Capitol advocating for heart-health legislation. Meet Sarah Habib, a UNC sophomore, Heart Club member, daughter of a heart patient, and future cardiologist with a story that moved me deeply.
