HAPPY GREEN TURTLE DAY!

If conservation had a mascot, it might be the green sea turtle.

*The largest hard-shelled sea turtle.
*Downlisted from endangered to least concern on the IUCN Red List (thanks to global conservation efforts)
*A seagrass gardener that helps keep coastal ecosystems healthy.
*One of the few sea turtles that becomes mostly herbivorous as an adult.

Just out here saving seagrass meadows one bite at a time. 🌱🌊

Do you know a teenager who is interested in exploring the career of a Fish & Game Warden?
Do they dream of having the ultimate “outdoor office,” where their job is protecting animals, patrolling forests, and cruising across lakes?

That’s exactly what a fish and game warden does! They’re like nature’s guardians, ensuring that hunters and fishers follow the rules while protecting wildlife and habitats. One day, they might be rescuing an injured eagle, the next, they could be tracking down someone breaking fishing laws, or teaching a community how to enjoy nature without harming it. It’s part adventure, part law enforcement, and part conservation; basically, a career where you get to protect the wild while living in it!

A perfect name ✨✨

✨ A group of fireflies is called a sparkle.

📜 Note: In an earlier carousel post on our feed, I misidentified a group of fireflies as a twinkle when they are very much a sparkle. I’m sorry. I removed the image and updated it here. This collective noun is mostly poetic and not used scientifically. Another poetic name for a group of fireflies is “glow” but they are mostly known as a swarm.—Ashley

The Detroit Zoo is sending nearly 7,000 Puerto Rican crested toad tadpoles to a rainforest in Puerto Rico as part of an effort to aid in the species' recovery.
