🥔 On the last day of gardening at Johnson preschool the students ate boiled potatoes that they had dug up last week. We were also checking out the pumpkin plants that grew from our fall pumpkins that rotted and germinated, digging up the last of the potatoes, and tasting our beautiful green beans.

Ms. Manuela came to talk to the Busy Little Caterpillars today about hummingbirds. While we haven’t had hummingbirds on the playground before, Ms. Manuela had the children help plant a wildflower 🌺 garden and set up a hummingbird feeder with nectar to hopefully help attract them!!
First, she sat with them and gave them some fun facts about hummingbirds. She told them that they love sugar and that they are attracted to the color red!! ❤️
Hummingbirds can fly forward, backward and upside down! They make super small nests and they use spiderwebs to help build them. Their eggs are super small and she demonstrated how small by bringing in a mini marshmallow!
Hopefully these wildflowers 🌺 will bring some adorable hummingbirds to our playground, it would be so fun to see! We will keep you posted! ❤️

🌹Our end of the year garden club celebration was a progressive luncheon hosted by three of our club members. Today was a lovely afternoon filled with delicious food, delightful fellowship among our members, and exploring the beautiful homes and gardens of our hostesses.
First stop: hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and installation of our new members 🌻
