Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library

Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library The Friends are the #1 supporter of the Wilmington Memorial Library.

We are a volunteer non-profit organization with a simple mission: (1) to promote public awareness of our library and (2) to provide financial support for services and programs. The Friends and our marvelous volunteers staff the Book Store Next Door on Wednesdays* and Saturdays. All proceeds from the Book Store go directly to help fund Library programs, events, and resources!

*Closed on Wednesdays in January and February.

The date of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s 11th annual 2026 Town-Wide Yard Sale is upon us – this Saturday, June 13th from 8am to 2pm! Shop till you drop at locations all over town! And don’t forget to stop by the Book Store Next Door, which will be open regular hours the day of the sale (10am to 4pm) with books and other items for sale on the front lawn of the store (weather permitting).

The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library are proud to sponsor this popular event. We are also pleased to announce that the all-important sale map has been sponsored by the Stoneham Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union (SMEFCU). This map can be picked up at the library, the SMEFCU Wilmington office (200 Jefferson Road), Wilmington Market Basket, and other locations around town. The Friends are grateful to the SMEFCU for their support of this important community tradition!

Exciting news—the Town-Wide Yard Sale is back for 2026! Join the 11th annual sale on Saturday, June 13th from 8am–2pm. It’s a great chance to browse for awesome deals and see what treasures you can find.

Want to be a seller? You can grab an application at the library or print one out and drop it off with your payment. The seller fee is $20, and space is limited to the first 60 registrants—so be sure to sign up early.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library, and all the application fees go right back to supporting the library. For more info, visit: https://wilmlibrary.org/community/twys2026.

A wonderful evening listening to Michael Holley. He may be a sports writer but his funny, entertaining stories were not all sports related. There was something for everyone. Pictured - two Friends board members (president Terry and yours truly) handing Michael a squishy baseball printed with the Friend's logo.
