Want to help out? There is always work to be done at the Diaper Bank! Open volunteer hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00-12:00. We welcome volunteers of all ages. If you would like to schedule a volunteer opportunity for your organization or group, please contact us by facebook, phone or email. Our primary means of collecting diapers is through community diaper drives. Diaper drives are simple to organize and make a big difference to families in our community. Please contact us for more information on hosting a diaper drive. The Need

Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about diapers. But if you are a parent without enough of them, they can become a major source of stress, guilt, and desperation. Imagine …
* having to choose between buying diapers and putting food on the table
* needing to leave your baby in the same diaper for the entire day – or longer
* trying to clean a soiled disposable diaper so it can be reused
* listening to your baby cry for a prolonged period because you can’t change a diaper
* dealing with your baby’s severe diaper rash, urinary tract infections, and skin infections
* missing work or school because you can’t afford the full day’s supply of diapers your daycare requires

There’s good news. When parents have reliable access to adequate diapers, the benefits to family stability, health and emotional state are significant. The Diaper Bank of NC- Lower Cape Fear works to meet this need by providing diapers to community partners for distribution to families in need in our community. You can help by donating diapers, hosting a diaper drive, volunteering to help us wrap diapers for distribution and by spreading the word! Contact us for more information on ways that you, your business or community organization can get involved!

When Olivia Morales, DBNC's Community Partner Specialist, moved to North Carolina to pursue a Master’s in Public Health, she never imagined it would lead her to a career at DBNC. “During my two-year program, I volunteered with DBNC, and that experience opened my eyes to the incredible impact of their work.”

Olivia shared that she felt drawn to her role because it offered a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships while witnessing and contributing to DBNC's positive impact across the state. "I love hearing firsthand how our outreach makes a difference. Collaborating with partners to find solutions for the families they serve is both inspiring and energizing.”

She’s especially proud of DBNC’s Stories from the Field, a powerful initiative that highlights the real lives being impacted through the organization’s work. “These stories remind us that we’re not just tracking numbers—we’re uplifting people and helping them thrive.”

When asked about words of wisdom she lives by, Olivia shared one of her favorites: “But Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou. And for a fun peek beyond her day-to-day work? Her favorite dessert is custard topped with fudge and raspberries, and she cheers wholeheartedly for her hometown team—the Minnesota Vikings!

Curious about how our Essentials Hub events work? 🤔

Well, let the expert, Sebastian Rios, DBNC's Community Navigator, share a day in the life of prepping for an EHub distribution! The EHub collaborates with community members in under-resourced communities to remove barriers to access and promote equity in our programs.
