To empower the Latino Community through education, advocacy, partnerships and exceptional services.

The Latin American Center works with a culturally vibrant and dynamic community that confronts poverty, unemployment, access to healthcare, and the need for all levels of education. Since 1969, the Latin American Community Center has facilitated in addressing the ever changing and growing needs of the community by offering programs and experiences that center on lifelong learning and life empowerment.

Celebramos con mucha alegría el Día de Logros 2026 de nuestros pequeños estudiantes del Early Childhood Services (ECS) del Centro Latino (La Fiesta 1 y La Fiesta 3).

Fue una jornada llena de orgullo, aprendizaje y comunidad, en la que celebramos y honramos nuestra cultura hispana en los Estados Unidos. Nuestros niños y niñas disfrutaron de un día especial, mientras sus orgullosas familias pudieron conocer de primera mano las actividades, experiencias y aprendizajes que sus hijos viven cada día en los salones de clase.

En el ECS del Centro Latino creemos firmemente que la educación con amor deja huellas para toda la vida. Por eso, seguimos trabajando con compromiso, dedicación y los más altos estándares educativos, acompañando a nuestros pequeños estudiantes en cada paso de su desarrollo.

Felicitamos a todos nuestros niños, niñas, familias, maestras y equipo educativo por hacer de este Día de Logros 2026 una celebración tan especial.

Hoy tuvimos el honor de recibir la visita de nuestros voluntarios en nuestra sede de La Fiesta 3 de New Castle, quienes compartieron una hermosa historia con los niños en cada uno de nuestros salones de clase, promoviendo el amor por la lectura y el aprendizaje desde temprana edad.

Nos acompañaron representantes de PNC Bank y United Way of Delaware, organizaciones comprometidas con el desarrollo educativo de nuestra comunidad. Agradecemos profundamente su tiempo, dedicación y entusiasmo al brindar esta enriquecedora experiencia a nuestros pequeños.

También queremos expresar nuestro especial agradecimiento a PNC Bank por su generosa donación de $1,400 destinada a la compra de materiales para nuestros 7 salones de clase. Este aporte permitirá a nuestras maestras contar con más recursos para fortalecer las experiencias de aprendizaje de los niños.

Gracias a todos los que hicieron posible esta visita tan especial. Su apoyo y compromiso continúan marcando una diferencia significativa en la educación y el bienestar de nuestros pequeños estudiantes. 🙌

En el marco del Día Mundial Sin Tabaco, nuestra comunidad se reunió para celebrar una iniciativa llena de significado, arte y esperanza.

El Programa de Promotores de Prevención del Centro Latino presentó un hermoso mural creado por el artista local Jesús Reyes, quien plasmó en su obra un mensaje claro: cuidar nuestra salud también es una forma de cuidar a nuestras familias y a nuestra comunidad.

Cada color y cada detalle del mural nos recuerda la importancia de tomar decisiones saludables y de crear espacios donde nuestros jóvenes y nuestras familias puedan crecer con bienestar, apoyo e inspiración.

Gracias a Jesús Reyes por compartir su talento y ayudar a convertir un mensaje de prevención en una obra que ahora pertenece a toda la comunidad.

El arte tiene el poder de unirnos, de iniciar conversaciones y de motivarnos a construir un futuro más saludable para todos. ¡Recuerda no fumar este 31 de mayo!

We mourn the passing of Mayor Mike Purzycki, a leader whose commitment to the City of Wilmington and its people left a lasting impact on so many communities, including the Hispanic community.

Through his support, partnership, and openness to listen, the Latin American Community Center was able to continue expanding opportunities for families through education, youth programs, workforce development, and community services. His office understood the importance of investing in our community and helping Latino families grow, succeed, and feel seen in this city.

Mike Purzycki believed in a stronger and more inclusive Wilmington. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the opportunities he helped create for future generations.

Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and everyone mourning this tremendous loss.

The LACC was proud to be part of the 2026 Latino Summit, hosted by the Delaware Hispanic Commission.

It was inspiring to see so many people come together to celebrate our culture, support one another, and recognize the strength of Delaware’s Hispanic community.

Across the state, Latinos are building businesses, raising families, leading classrooms, working hard, creating opportunities, and helping our communities grow.

Latinos represent 20% of the U.S. population and 12% of Delaware. Here in Delaware, our community contributes $2 billion to the economy each year.

Our presence is powerful, and our impact is seen every day.

Join us as we come together to recognize World No To***co Day and support a healthier future for our community.

The Prevention Promoters Program proudly invites families and community members to a special event on Friday, May 29, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the entrance of the Youth Development Center, located at 403 N. Harrison St., Wilmington, DE 19805.

During this meaningful gathering, we will unveil our Anti-To***co Mural, a community initiative created to inspire awareness, prevention, and healthier choices for all generations. Guests will also have access to educational materials, prevention resources, support information, refreshments, and interactive activities focused on wellness and tobacco-free living.

Every choice matters. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier community.

We look forward to seeing you there.
